Jets win over Texans: What we learned about Zach Wilson, Nataniel Hackett, the defense and more (msn.com) Click link above (too long to copy/paste, sorry)...nice article. Covers a lot. Enjoy!
really good read. nice to hear offensive leaders talking good about zach. clearly he never lost the locker room like some speculated. I wonder if the texans forums are saying to fire their GM for having no WRs after dell and nico went down
Better than an F'n t-shirt... “He’s been through the wringer here in this city, and it’s tough man,” Garrett Wilson said. “It’s definitely been a tough go for him. And to see him go out there and just ball, man. He’s finally doing what he deserves. This is what he deserves. He put in the work for it.” “That kid’s a warrior, man,” left guard Laken Tomlinson said, laughing about Wilson grinning in the huddle at the start of the game. “It really felt like [he was smiling] every play. He’s out there and you look in his eyes and [say], ‘Man, this guy has this warrior mentality about him. He’s about to go out there and do some damage.’ And he did. I’m so proud of him, the way he handled himself — all year, really.” “He balled,” Garrett Wilson said. “Put it all out there, throwing dots in the rain and those things mess with what they were trying to do on offense. As far as what we were trying to do Zach handled it and that is always our goal, handle it better than them and we did. Zach went crazy today, like I said, he has got all the faith in us in the world. It is great to see him and the just hoop.
That really IS the million dollar question, isn't it? CAN Zach Wilson put back to back games together? He hasn't been able to do so. In fact, if history dictates here, that Houston performance will be the last in a NY Jets uniform once this season comes to a close. Usually those performances show up once or twice in a season. I think this is, what, his 4th really good performance in nearly 3 years of playing. Hell, if he plays this Sunday, like he did in Houston, that alone will be cause to ask the question, "has ZW turned the corner and now gets it?" History says he won't but here's crossing my fingers that he WILL! Until he doesn't and we Jets fans come crashing back to Earth with a thud.
did they give him a game ball after the game? I didn't see any videos but would love to see the game ball come out on that one
Good question... Then what if he finishes the season strong? He plays like a top 10/15 qb and wins out? It's def would be a beautiful problem to have.
Something like that would definitely alter the discussion on the 5th year option. Not on a smart team but certainly on the Jets.
Anything that would force the Jets to reconsider the obvious decision not to pick up that option cannot be a beautiful thing. Only the Jets would find themselves in such a position.
