I got this last night, and I like it a lot, at least for the very little I played. I did one online shootout (win!) and one offline "Be a Pro" game. Similar to last year, which is a good thing for the most part. I'll be going on later to do some online BaP. Anyone interested in: A) an online 360 league and/or B) a TGG group for the BaP?
I have to say that I bought one hockey game in my life time it was pretty recently to, besides the outdated roster, I thought the difficulty settings were horrible if it was on easy it was to easy it was on hard it was stupidly hard, you always put up insane goal numbers even against the best goalies
NHL 09 has been hard to play for me so far. My first next gen hockey game. I will get used to it though. Only played 2 games. Blackhawks-2 Capitals-3 Flyers-4 Capitals-1

The goalies are much worse than last year, but the team defense is much better. If you can get by the defense you have a better than 50-50 chance. The main problem I'm having is adjusting to the deke sensitivity. I haven't been able to put it in the net on breakaways as often as I'd like due to losing the puck on dekes.
I was awesome at 08, I feel average at 09. I don't like how easily you lose the puck cause of that stupid ass stick lift thing. I can understand putting it in the game but it works WAY too much. The defense is tough, but I don't mind that at all. The physicality is kind of fun, no more BS interference calls so you can just level some bitches. The goalies going down is just wayyyy too often. There are times where it's understandable and times where you don't know what the fuck they're thinking. Overall, good game, gotta get the hang of it. I was Ranked #42 before the EA servers went down last week and now I'm garbage, something like 13-6. Whack.
If you can't score it's cause you have no skill...You need to mix it up in this game....you can't try the same move over & over
Be A Pro multiplayer with your clubs makes this the best fucking game I've ever played in my life. Me and a friend who goes to Towson set it up so we play a few times a week on the same club. We practiced at my house first this past weekend when he was home, and we worked together as a team to learn each other's tendencies (we locked our controllers to one position on the ice and played exhibition games). Now we've started online, and it's just fucking great. This game is the shit.
The game really is excellent. I play the Online team play and when my friend is over we play Ranked games together as a unit. My record online is 55-8. Ranked like 800 in the world. If anyone wants a game (360) let me know,
