not only was that a sad time to be a Jet fan but it was one of the most embarrassing times to be a Jet fan, fortunately he only lasted 1 season.
i was a jets fan in 76 - i wasn't sad i was having fun. Lou actually lasted less than 1 season. He quit before the end of the season - you don't often see that.

Hey if you weren't having a good time in the 70's, that sucks for you. But my happiness didn't depend on a football team that had pretty much sucked for my entire life (10 yrs) up until that point - if you think kids should walk around being miserable just b/c the Jets tanked - thats up to you. I was having a blast despite the lousy Jets and lou feaking holtz. :rofl:
Obviously you have issues with reading comprehension, I stated "as a jet fan" times were bad, that doesn't correlate to anything else outside of the football world...did I clarify that for you??? or should I dumb it down a little more???

Went to my first game that year, vs expansion team Tampa Bay at Shea. Joe started at QB and played well, Todd also played, Lou Piccone ran a punt back for a TD, the Jets won. That's a good day when you're nine, records be damned.
I thought this was highly entertaining, at least Holtz can look back and laugh at himself. My whole Jets life which dates back to 1983 I have always assumed that Rich otite was the worst coach in Jets history, maybe Holtz gives him a run for his money?
