Me too. Whilst I would love the oppertunity to 'pop' down the road to see my team play... A~ I wouldn't want us to lose our home field advantage. B~ Its not fair to season ticket holders. C~ Its an American sport that belongs in the USA. D~ A good chunk of the fans that go won't be fans of the teams playing , but are going along for the experience. E~ Its unecessary. F~ I like the game the way it is. It isn't broke , so it doesn't need fixing.
In what way? I enjoyed the whole experience. Think I would go again. Apparently Redskins-Jags is the early favourite for the game to come over.
that game would suck IMO. At least put to big name teams to showcase some NFL talent. The Jags may play in the smallest market (Green Bay maybe) and no one in europe would know a single player on their team. If the NFL wants to make a splash there give New England a game in the UK.
The redskins are one of the most popular teams in the uk.I'd expect them to be one of the teams this year.
Huh? it was one of the worst played games all year. It was a highlight for Goodell b/c of money and that's what it's about. Fans do not matter anymore, it's ALL about money and eventually they will pay as they will drive away fans from the game. This idea was idiotic to start and even more idiotic to continue.
Bingo! Add this lot up. All the fans(Ticket holders etc...) that missed that game in the USA. All the fans in the stadium (wembley) how many of them were actuall fans who follow the team actually got in? Not many guessing by the pictures. I'm all for having a game here , but not regular season.
It's alright to me, I mean if it sells out why not. They probably sold more tickets for that game then the Dolphins would in Miami(They can't even sell out playoff games). I can bet that the next London game involves Jacksonville(A weak market) vs. Green Bay(A historic team like the Giants).
So would you change your mind if the Jets played a home game against the Pats? With all the bandwagon jumpers over here , you would be hard pushed to find pockets of Jets fans , plenty of fights though
All I know is that would never happen, the Jets & Pats actually sell out so odds are they wouldn't get picked unless they are the road team, the NFL is going to pick a home team that has a weak fanbase like Jacksonville and put them against a team that is worth watching like Green Bay as a part of Farve's farewell tour. It's win-win for the league, they get worldwide exposure and the team makes more money than a regular home game.
The Redskins hardly have a weak fanbase and they are rumoured to be coming. This whole idea and possibilty that the Jets could play here makes my head hurt
The Redskins will surely come. They are probably, along with Miami, one of the 2 most popular teams in the UK.
You went last year, right? Other than Giants and Dolphins jerseys , what were the most 'other' teams there? Curious.
