Good 7 minute segment on our division on NFL Total Access tonight... breaking down our drafts and offseasons. Decent chunk of Jets analysis in there... thought you'd be interested. http://www.nfl.com/videos/nfl-draft/09000d5d817f97ee/AFC-East-draft-grades Poor Bills... lol
I thought only idiots on message board still compared Thomas Jones to LT. These guys too. The white guy never mentioned Connor in his list. The best FB in the draft. Taken by a rushing team. Or McKnight, who is a great replacement for Leon. Pat's first i guess....... Us second. :finssuck:
They mentioned McKnight. And there are definitely legitimate issues with McKnight, namely pass protection and holding onto the ball. People seem to be on the Ducasse OMG is he ready bandwagon and that's annoying because all they are doing is repeating what others are saying and not offering any real analysis. We know Faneca had issues with pass protection and the analysts aren't mentioning that.
I'm really excited about Misi. Of all the 34 OLBs... Misi was the most "batteries included" one in the draft. In terms of being able to make an immediate imapct. He has had a lot of LB experience... playing 2 games at LB in 2008 and 4 in 2009. He's a versatile player that can set the edge on the strong side, can drop into coverage, and be a disruptive pass rusher. I hope he lives up to his ability, b/c we're gunna need him.
This. How come no one realizes that Shonn Greene is replacing TJ? Its unbelieveable. The only time I have heard his name is about how he has high fantasy value. I dont see how since apparently LT is the new starter...
Holy cow! Terrible assessment. Ducasse replacing Fanaca. Who said? Its between Turner (experienced), Slauson (some experience) and Ducasse, who HAS played LG as well as LOT. We draft a guy who is better at pass protection than Fanaca (probably).
You'll find many fantasy analysts actually make more sense than real NFL analysts because it's their job to look at numbers and situations whereas people who were once in the NFL don't have to watch film or look at numbers for a living.. I just hope people still think LT is the man come late August, so Greene slips to me in round 2....
I dont think Greene gets picked up early in fantasy at all. The jets now have 3 MONSTER wrs, an excellent tight end, 3 suitable HBs, and LT is supposedly the goal line guy. While I think Greene plays great next year in reall football, his fantasy value definitely isnt first round worthly, and I wouldnt even bite at him in the 2nd.
It's the same deal with Vlad replacing Faneca. No one seems to want to mention the fact that Faneca himself said that the Jets wanted to go with someone they were grooming for the position. As for the LT replacing Jones argument, it depends on how you look at it. LT replacing Jones as a starter: -Bullshit argument given the fact that Jones lost his starter job to Greene late last season in everything but name. Greene got more carries and was far more effective late in the season than Jones. LT replacing Jones as a backup: -Faulk actually made a good point regarding Jones' desire to play and be paid like a backup. There were reports of him bristling at the notion of Greene taking the starting job during the season and we all know he still wanted a bigger pay day so Tomlinson is already an upgrade right there. -As for the workload, Greene being the starter already qualifies him as the workhorse which was Jones' best asset as a runner. For a backup, the Jets were looking for someone who would be good at pass pro and receiving. Again, Tomlinson is the better player for that role. He has much better hands than Jones and his pass pro skills are all around better than Jones. -They keep bringing up Jones' total yardage from last season but Jones wouldn't have had the opportunity to replicate that number of carries or the yards this year. Tomlinson suits the team better than Jones as a #2 RB, especially with the CS wanting to expand the passing game. He's a better check down option for Sanchez.
As long as LT is Healthy he WILL be the starter... Just like a healthy TJ never lost his starter job (that is until the injury) id like to see Greene make it through a season injury free before considering him the real #1
Greene's the workhorse and the starter. You have to be completely clueless to think otherwise. He's the prefect back for Rex.
It kind of annoyed me that they up'd the Dolphins Draft grade for trading for Marshal and didn't up ours (or recognize) that as part of our draft we added Holmes and Cromartie!
I swear, you would think that by now even the non-Jet fans in the media would have had enough time since the draft to do just a tiny bit of research before talking out of their asses. That was worthless.
Don't worry, they'll remember to include Cromartie if he's not on the team next year. From what I've seen and heard from Cro, he seems pretty psyched about Rex's defense.
