I personally think Ramirez is a reach that early. I would prefer Beekman in the first place. Other than that, I'd be more than satisfied.

Possibly a bit, but with his size and strength, he would be just we're looking for in our running game. He might be there at #59, but I don't want to risk losing him... He sounds great though: http://www.nfldraftcountdown.com/scoutingreports/og/manuelramirez.html

I'd be very happy with that draft, but I think we'll go DL earlier than round 3...even with the dearth of great 3-4 DL prospects in this draft, I think it's enough of a need that we go for Justin Harrell at #37. Plus Mangini is known as a DB guru, so he may wait until #59 or even #87 to get a sleeper CB and coach him up. Overall, nice job though.

I don't see B. Quinn falling past mia, and I really don't like that D Revis for the jets in the first round...from what i've read Ross (picked after) would be a better bet

Do you think Mebane is going to play 3-4 end or nose?
I personally think he will go much higher and Ramirez a little lower but you are right to get great value in Revis and Woodley. My problem with those two right now is they both look more like they are hiding something than saving something after watching most of the top prospects show their stuff.

    I see Mebane as a 3-4 DE.

Really? Even though we have a solid guy in Chris Baker and a decent blocker in Sean Ryan as a backup?

Even with the poor history of TEs recently with Johnny Mitchell, Kyle Brady, Anthony Becht and trading for Doug Jolley? Even with all of the other needs we have?

eh, I can definately see Olsen getting past the Jets. TE really isn't that big of a need and can easily be addresed in free agency.

That being said, I would HATE to see them pass on Sidney Rice TWICE. He would be the steal of the draft in the second round at 37

One thing to consider is NE drafted 2 TEs in the first round while Mangini was there. They also drafted a couple OL and a couple DL so who knows.

That's true... But I don't think they had as many needs at the time as we do now. Yet somehow, it wouldn't surprise me THAT MUCH if we picked Greg Olsen...

I have yet to see one mock draft that didn't have GB taking Marshawn Lynch. Quinn is way to low, I hate the Revis pick, Olsen will go higher(cincy?). It sounds like Moses is dropping big time, Spencer will go higher.

All in all good job but I wouldn't be all that happy with that Jets draft.

If we take Manuel Ramirez over Sidney Rice I will slit my wrists, cut my eyeballs out of their sockets, and eat my own shit for 3 weeks straight. Ramirez is a beast, but has very little pass blocking ability. Rice is a playmaking WR that would make Coles, Cotchery, and Rice arguably the most deadly trio in the league, and he's fantastic value outside of the top 25 selections.

I noticed that as well but it is simply the best fit, even with Green. The only other substantial needs that they have is at DT and in the secondary. I think they are just a young team that needs to grow and get out of Favre's shadow.

To JetsFaninPA: I am with you, I would not be happy with a Greg Olsen first round pick. I wanted to consider Vernon Davis last year, and Kellen Winslow when he came out and I would be cool with taking a WR but if you take a TE in the first round he better be damned good and I can't say for sure that Olsen will be the next Jeremy Shockey or Jason Witten so I say take a pass.

I doubt that Ginn falls that far either, and people had Olsen there before his great 40 time he will go before us

I honestly think that soon mocks will have Lynch going to Buffalo...

Woah, that's rough... Once free agency starts and we sign a few guys to start, I would love to take Sidney Rice at #37. However, I assume no free agent signings in this mock, so I have to go by greater need rather than value. Once we sign some players, things will chnge.

  20. Beekman and Ramirez are moving in ooposite directions. Ramirez already had the on field smarts, character and work ethic that had Gm's interested. When he put the bar up 40 times, and had a great mirror drill, he really raised his stock considerably.

Beekman is considered an overachiever, whose lack of height(barely 6'1) will scare alot of FO's on draft-day.

    At this point...

Ramirez- mid to late 2nd round pick
Beekman late 3rd early 4th round pick

Overall, I like the draft, but I'd like to see what Revis runs at his pro day, as he really hurt himself by not running at the combine. And seeing Bowe go 2 picks later in your draft, is tough to swallow.
