Just watching NFL Live and they were doing the AFC offseason review. Clayton, Hasty and Schlereth all said the Jets were the clear winners. Some highlights were: -In the middle of the 3-4, Kris Jenkins will be a great run stuffer and that's all he needs to do for the Jets to be greatly improved on the D Line. -Pace and Gholston will be great DE/Pass rushers. -Faneca will solidify the whole O Line and maybe more important, being next to D'Brick, will help Ferguson reach his full star potential. -Great veteran pickup in Tony Richardson a Pro Bowler. Also nice addition with Jesse Chatman and one other name I forgot. I can honestly say that I've never heard all of the ESPN analysts praise us at at the same time. Was good to hear.
Those ESPN analysts are rats fleeing a sinking Cheatriots Ship. Get ready for the coaching styles of Dom Capers, after that disgrace, Bellicheat is canned.
So now we insult the ESPN analysts when they say good things about us yet half this board goes crazy when they either don't talk about us or say bad things. I guarantee the reaction to a bad draft review by ESPN would be, "They are just on the patriots bandwagon."
Anyone with a brain would realize that the Jets will absolutely be a better football team next season...so it doesn't surprise me that they said that.
one thing is for sure, the regime is at least trying and nobody can call woody cheap anymore, now will all these new additions pan out, we all hope so
Sorry, can you clarify AFC or AFCE offseason review. I'd be more surprised if they chose us from the entire AFC--not that we don't deserve it.
I love that he spends in 1 year and now we have to worship his wallet. -What about all the JETS FA's he didn't pay? Also, It's only one year. I'll be on board when he starts investing in this team yearly. You know, Sheep....wolves clothing... I bet you if we win the SB, this man will close the Wallet for 10 years. But hey, I'll take it!
I think he gets a bad rap here... he's not the one who makes the contracts... we work under a cap, and he's been doing nothing but spending money over the past 4 years - a new training facility, trying to get our own stadium, the Jets Share of the new stadium in the Meadowlands, etc... Somehow, I doubt it was his decision on Kendall, and the same with the new board favorite, Baker... thats the GM people... not the owner. He hires the people to make the football decisions...
The Dolphins had the best offseason by far. Probably 10x better than any of the other teams because they landed a big tuna to turn the franchise around.
...is Bill Parcells going to play quarterback, wide receiver, or even linebacker for the Dolphins? No, he can bring in whoever he wants, they're still going to be a bad team for a few more years. They still suck, and they will be at the bottom of the league for at least 3 to 4 more seasons.
Plus, and people keep forgetting this, he's not coaching the Dolphins. He may be running the show but he's not going to be coaching them on Sundays.
this has nothing to with nothing.I cant remember the season... but steve young that old shithead said J-E-T-S just end the season.. and we went on to get into the playoffs. one of the greatest days in my life... boy did he feel like a giant asshole.
They were 1-15... nowhere to go but up. They needed to get a ton of players, nobody else needed that many. But I do see where your coming from, they are going to keep getting better until Parcell's is gone.
Yawn. I'm negitive. Look at me! I have nothing to offer but knee jerk reactions an senseless comments. Give mangini a 15 year contract, no wait, run him out of town! Waaaaaaa.
I don't know if I agree with you on this one. If the dolphins got Parcells the Coach, then I'd have to agree. If it's Parcells the GM, then it's a whole new story. Expect the dolphins to get moderately better - anybody can do better job than CamCam anyway - then watch them crash and burn under the cap hell Parcells creates.
NFL Live I saw the same show, and noticed that the same NFL Live crew applauded the Buffalo Bills nd Miami Dolphins as well... Yes, the Jets have improved. They should be better than 4-12 this season. But how much better? (and... What if they are not better than that?) The Jets front office made a lot of moves that SHOULD improve the team. Sorry to sound like a pessimist, but I just don't think the Jets made enough moves to become a force in the AFC. They made some improvements to the OL, DL, maybe (just maybe) to their secondary, but on the other hand the Jets: 1. Might not have a great running game after all. Jones might be on the downside, Washington might not be all that good (as anyone who watched his inconsistent running last year would admit). 2. Might not have a good QB (this is only the most important question of all, and for the Jets it's a huge question mark, whether or not you root for these gys to become better than they performed last year). 3. Still have a questionable group of wide receivers. (Coles, God love him, was seriously injured last year, Cotchery seems to have a lot of potential but hasn't yet delivered and seems to disappear at times--then after that... What do we have... Rookies?) 4. Have a lot of other question marks. (How will the new players fit into the locker room? Is there as much resentment from the current players as we might fear because of Tangini's treatment of veterans like Pete Kendall and now Chris Baker? Will Mangini's rough summer camp alienate even more of them? Will a slow start doom the team?) I am not all that optimistic about the Jets chances in the coming year. I'd be surprised if we finish better than 8-8... But as I keep asking (and almost no one ever answers), is that enough of an improvement that it will be a goiod year? Or is it that, after all the trades and draft stuff, it's playoffs or bust for he Jets this year? Me, I'd be extremely happy with 9-7 and missing the playoffs on the last week of the season. I always hope the team can keep it interesing throughout the season. But... I'm easy. How about you?
