At the risk of being obvious, the players I want from that list are Flacco, McFadden, Sweed, Chris Long, Mayo or Lofton. I'm guessing we get two of them anyway.

I was skimming thru part of the list and there are some I agree (Flacco-Big Ben) with and some that are iffy (McFadden-Edge)

One that thru me for a complete loop was Chris Long to Mike Vrabel. I read an article in a magazine once that described Vrabel in a way where, he seemed to lack agility, speed and athleticism (overall athleticism), but he was so effective in the Patriots defensive scheme primarily because of his intelligence and how well he prepares for an opponent. So I fail to see the comparison.

McFadden-Edge is way off. McFadden-Dickerson would be spot on, though he may have been using only current players.

Edge in his prime was one hell of a runningback though.

This isn't the first time I've seen the McFadden - Edge comparison. Of active players, he's likely the closest comparison. Of former players, Dickerson or Faulk are probably the closest 2 off the top of my head.

Edge is a different type of back though. He runs straight at defenders, and doesn't have that home-run speed like McFadden.

Most of these comparisons are horrible. He put little effort into this comparing Erin Henderson to his brother, and DRC to Anthony Cromartie mainly because they are related. He also compared players from USC to USC Alumni.

Andre Woodson to David Carr? They aren't similar at all.

Joe Flacco to Ben Roethlisberger? They are similiar in size, but not in style of play.

Limas Sweed to Larry Fitzgerald? That is probably the worst comparison of them all.

What's wrong with Sweed to Fitzgerald? I think that's actually a pretty fair comparison, Fitz was obviously a much better prospect, but I think it's alright.

Doing comparisons like this is very difficult.

Comparisions is fun, what NFL player do you see in [this kid]:I fixed a few that i think Wright got wrong.

    DMC- Reggie Bush, with fumbles
Ryan- Hasselbeck (this is the consensus amongst the planet)
    Flacco- Vinny T
Sweed- Andre Johnson (stole from NFL.com, i agree more with this)
    Henderson- D'Qwell Jackson

I like the Avril-Phillips comparison alot, i can see Avril being that kind of player.. not an impact player but a consistent pass rushing beast who teams pay attention to but not gameplan for, taking pressure off the other side. I wouldn't mind him at 36.

Well the Henderson brothers are very similar...and DRC is actually very similar to AC coming out of college.

Flacco reminds me more of Derek Anderson than Big Ben.

Sweed has a very similar playing style to Fitzgerald.

And you must have forgotten Edge as a prospect, but that guy was blazing fast.

Yep, he ran an official 4.38 at his combine and might've played even faster in pads.

They took a huge chance with comparing DRC to his cousin.

But DRC and his cousin could not be any more similar.

They were both relatively unproven right at the end of their college careers, Cromartie was injured for his whole junior season, and still came out, and DRC played against sub par competition, and didn't really dominate either , but they both shot into the first round because of there combination of size, speed, ball skills and overall athleticism

    Exactly.

They're even built similarly and have similar physical flaws (not physical enough).

    Guys an idiot

Darren McFadden - Edgerrin James NO Mcfadden is a totally different type of runner

Rashard Mendenhall - Shaun Alexander NO Mendenhall is 10X more exposive than Alexander was

Limas Sweed - Larry Fitzgerald LMAO comparing a bust to a top 5 wr in the nfl

Fred Davis - Chris Baker This is kinda funny I didn't know non jets fans knew who chris baker was.

Derrick Harvey - Will Smith Mathis anyone?

Phillip Merling - Trevor Pryce I think will smith is alot more like merling than pryce

Sedrick Ellis - Casey Hampton Since when is Ellis a fat ass nose tackle (maybe we should take him)

Erin Henderson - E.J. Henderson How original

    again

    D. Rodgers-Cromartie - Antonio Cromartie How original

Leodis McKelvin - Philip Buchanon (thats pretty messed up, being compared to a bust)

He made a bunch of good comparisons then just got lazy and made some stupid comparisons

If Mendenhall is 10x more explosive than a guy who had some of the best seasons EVER from an RB, I want him. Sadly, he's not.

The worst part about prospect comparisons is that most people only remember the most recent version of that player...heres Shaun Alexander in college:

    http://video.google.com/videoplay?d...0&q=Shaun+Alexander&ei=1dMISLyfKJmwrQK79I2FAQ

I still Mendenhall's best comps is Duece McCallister...I think he has the potential for more but the lack of experience at the college level is both good and bad...
