sorry, I couldn't wait! So, we get a fourth rounder for Peter Kendall, and great picks for Vilma and D-rob when they shine in the right system. I'm counting down the minutes! :jets:
D-Rob is conditional, and could go as high as a #2 depending upon playing time, or so i heard. What's the vilma/kendel situation? does anyone know what the 'conditions' are on our conditional pics? is it playing time? reaching the probowl? what? can someone please summerize our 2009 pics? feel free to throw in a #4 for baker if you wanna.
It would be nice to know some more details. I don't think the DRob trade is going to be that high a pick.
We get a 4th for Kendall. For Vilma we got a 4th in 2008. And if he plays the majority of the games we give NO our 4th and we get their 2nd or 3rd in 2009. D-Rob is conditional the details haven't been released yet. So we have a total of 8 picks next year (so far).
There's a thought that we won't get anything for DRob... he has to play 65% of the downs and with Denver's rotating system, that's a reach. I think we should consider that trade a money saver and not get our hopes up.
No chance we get a 2nd for Robertson. It is based on playing time and there is no possible way he reaches even the 3rd round level with the way Denver rotates their defensive linemen.
Sounds like we will get nothing more than a salary dump for Robertson. And I could care less! http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/rumors/teams/New+York+Jets/nfl.t.20
The guaranteed 4th round pick in this year's draft from the Vilma trade with New Orleans was packaged with our 2nd to move up to #30. We still have the possibility of receiving an additional pick as compensation if Vilma achieves (some analysts say relatively low) performance / playing thresholds in his first year with NO...
Vilma also has to sign a contract with New Orleans for it to escalate to a 2nd rounder and if it does we have to send a 4th rounder back to New Orleans.
And it sounds like Vilma's knee is worse than a lot of us expected. So that doesn't look good either, We just traded our pick to the Packers.
