Chad is an excellent QB with a great supporting cast. He needs a strong OL and a great running back which we do not have. I am not sold on Thomas Jones, I think the Bears OL made him look alot better than he really is. If our OL stays the way it is, he will not run for 1000yards.

Fans seem to always think that the backup QB is better than the starter ... just like they always seem to think that another team's cut is better than anybody playing that position on their own team!

Since Clemens hasn't been in any position to show if he's truly a successful NFL QB, lots of fans assume he'll be better than Pennington ... but the fact is, he could be a lot worse!

I think most realistic fans are optimistic of what promise Clemens shows, but know that he is light years behind the curve when it comes to operating an NFL offense, but that is always the case with any unproven QB. I personally think that if the FO is going to stick with Clemens at some point this season, that we will end up not even sniffing a .500 record, whether or not that would work out for us is another argument.. But if the FO sticks with this guy and he busts, we need to know soon. Rebuilding and all that.

Exactly how many QBs fail with a great supporting cast? That doesn't sound like the mark of an excellent QB to me, but rather the mark of a not so good one.

Two things....what makes anyone think Clemens has the ability to get out of bad plays as well as Chad does? He lacks the experience of seeing what a defense is doing. This is a huge part of Chad;s success.

Second, I don't see that much athleticism in Clemens. I don't know that he will be able to run out of trouble. More important, will he have pocket presence? The better quarterbacks move in the pocket to buy time and then make a throw. The good ones just don't tuck the ball and run. If that's all we needed, then brooks Bollinger would still be here.

Want to bet on that? I agree the Clemens era is near. But I can easily see a 4 interception day out of Clemens against the Raven defense as he makes multiple bad decisions in the face of pressure.
