    Cuts/Releases

QB Marques Tuiasasopo-Just not a good back up at the QB position
FB Stacy Tutt-did not play out as the coaches expected
    WR Justin McCareins-fuck you
TE Sean Ryan-not very good at anything lol
    TE Jason Pociask-always injured
    OG Adrien Clarke-fuck you
DE Eric Hicks-besides being a veteran, he was a waste
LB Matt Chatham-why was he even signed?
LB Brad Kassel-useless...wasn't even good on special teams
LB Victor Hobson-I would actually like him back but who knows
CB Andre Dyson-last season was a fluke...didnt play well and in the doghouse i believe
FS Erik Coleman-just cant get back to rookie form...elam is better anyways
DE Sean Ellis-hasn't been great in a couple years...time for him to leave

    Re-signs

FS Abram Elam - 1 year(proved himself as a quality player...brings the physicality kerry lacks)
CB Hank Poteat - 2 years(shocked everyone with a very solid year)
    OL Wade Smith - 3 years(great depth)
David Barrett - 1 year(he is also excellent depth but shouldn't be starting anymore)

    Signings

OT-Stacey Andrews-Solid lineman to start right tackle for us

OG-Jacob Bell-he will be our most expensive signing this off-season

    WR-Bryant Johnson
-behind one of the best tandems in football in arizona but will be an excellent pick-up

DE-Tommy Kelly-Big body to play D End in the 3-4 over 300 lbs

NT Isaac Sopoaga-rotational player at the NT position in the 3-4 with Drob and pouha

    CB Randall Gay
-depth at corner and hopeful starter alongside Revis

    Pre-Draft:

I decided to spice up this draft with a realistic trade
Dallas Cowboys send Bobby Carpenter, Marcus Spears, the 22nd pick in the 2008 Draft and the 60th pick in the 2008 draft

LB Bobby Carpenter-has been a bust but i believe that mangini can make this guy into a real player and he's good at special teams...the worst thing possible is that hes a rotational player at Inside/Outside backer

    DE Marcus Spears
-I feel this would be a great pickup because he has experience in the 3-4 and has the right size at over 300 lbs and is 6'4"

    Draft

22nd Pick:Quentin Groves OLB-i believe he is the best OLB because he has the best technique, the right size and and is extremely fast...i love gholston but i know he wont be there at this pick and he isnt as great technique wise

37th pick:Limas Sweed WR-the big tall receiver this team lacked and is a great playmaker

60th pick:Roy Schuening OG-the best guard in the draft and great depth for our shitty ass line lol

68th pick:Ahtyba Rubin NT- bit of a reach but he is huge at 6'3'' 326...he is a chode which is perfect for the 3-4....i feel some one in the 3rd will bite on him so its better to be safe than sorry

    99th pick(estimate):Kendall Langford DE-big at 6'6'' and 296 lbs...would be great depth at D End

137th pick(estimate):Joe Fields S-Great Playmaker and tackler and is a hard worker

173rd pick(estimate):Owen Schmitt FB-the bruiser back we need to open holes for leon and jones

214th pick(estimate):Curtis Gatewood ILB-big guy with decent speed...nice depth behind Jonathan Vilma and compliment next to Harris

Releases and Signings are good, but i feel that the Cowboys will not send us two players, one of them a great 3-4 DE for our 6th alone. Jerry Jones is a riverboat gambler, but he's not Al Davis.

Your draft picks are the guys we need, but i don't think they'll be available when we pick at those selections minus Groves and Rubin, everyone else will probably go higher.

    Other than that, nice job.

He would do that though since for some reason is looking to trade them both.I would love to have Carpenter around, the guy has talent at Ohio State he was A.J.Hawks right hand man, what Vernon Gholston is to Laurinitis.

yea there on the trading block...thats what i heard and i feel those picks are solid...its hard when you dont do a whole mock

i feel wr depth is really good and since limas sweed was injured all year he will drop to the second round like micheal bush did for the raiders...

roy is projected late 2nd-early 3rd so i feel that is fine...

kendall langford and owen schmitt might go earlier but i think joe fields will be there in the early 5th

i dont know much about gatewood though

Interesting idea cutting Ellis, I don't think it will happen because he is a leader. Other than that I could see this offseason happening. By the way loved the reaction to Mccareins and Clarke, couldn't have said it any better.

    Questions
    1) Why is tuisiaippo a bad backup qb?
    2) You do realize how what a horrible salary cap hit it would be cutting Sean Ellis? He was one of our best defensive players last year. He's just overpaid for a position that doesn't get big stats.
    3) Have you actually watched Stacy Andrews play? What he has done that says he's a solid RT?
    4) You expect the cowboys to give up the 22nd pick, the 60th pick and two former 1st round picks who are still relatively young for the 6th pick?

    Comments:
    1) Stacy Tutt was cut during last season
    2) Erik Hicks was cut during last season
    3) David Barrett is still signed

I don't see us cutting Shaun Ellis. I'd keep him. He's a defensive leader and still a good player. The other cuts are fine and so are the resignings. Also, I'd cut Justin Miller, especially since he's not even the 2nd kick-returner.

Good job on the resignings, but since when does Kerry Rhodes lack physicality?

The trade is not that realistic IMO. Bobby Carpenter is not a fit in the 3-4 defense as the article listed in this thread also says. Spears has been an underachiever and is nothing special. I wouldn't be a supporter of it.

That would be a hell of a free agent class. I doubt that Bryant Johnson comes to NY to be a slot reciever again. He can be the main attraction in a handful of teams' passing games.

I'd be OK with Groves. A pass-rushing OLB is priority #2 IMO. And we should acquire two OLBs via draft and/or free agency. I'm curious to see how he performs at the combine. I think he has a chance to shoot up draft boards if his workouts go well.

If Sweed lasts that long, that would be a great pickup, but Bryant Johnson AND Limas Sweed? You forgot about Brad Smith on the depth chart also. If his hands improve he's a very good slot guy. There's still room for a lot of growth IMO.

I think we'd be lucky if Schueing lasted that long. He's a solid, NFL-ready prospect. In my first mock (will be posted this week), the Jets might select him with their 2nd round pick. Hey, remember when everyone was shocked by the Pats' Logan Mankins pick at the bottom of the 1st? Now he's a Top 5 NFL OG.

Rubin is no reach there IMO, but with Robertson, Pouha and Sopoaga on the team and Mangini singing praises of Sione Pouha at season's end, I might pass on him. I will also consider him with the Jets' 3rd round pick in my mock.

No way Owen Schmitt lasts that long and the last three picks are solid though I know nothing about Curtis Gatewood.

    Interesting take on the offseason.

tui is a bad backup because he cant win games...he couldnt win in oakland when he started...it would be 2005 all over again....i mean if both chad pennington n kellen clemens went down...it would be a bad season but he couldnt win a game...thats just my take

i took a risk cutting sean ellis...i knew the cut would have a huge impact on the salary but i wanted to do it...i like him but he isnt a playmaker.....it was him or mosely and c.j. did a lot more this year in limited time

i say andrews is a solid RT because after seeing clements play....anyone is solid lol:grin:

i expect this trade to happen only if darren mcfadden is still on the board...both players are on the trade block....i believe mangini and tannebaum will drive a hard bargain and jones will bite...

i believe bryant johnson will become the second reciever or first cuz coles will probaly be on the injury report all season again...and lets get clemens as many weapons as possible...i can see stucki getting cut if he doesnt stay healthy...this years a test

oh and kerry rhodes hates tackling lol....i saw it somewhere....hes a ballhawk and a playmaker but i cant recall the last time he dominated a reciever running a broken arrow or post lol.....perfect example was trying to tackle jamal lewis....he was owned but he is still my favorite player

I don't know how many teams in the league have a 3rd qb who can do anything. The guy has been in the system for a year, I don't see any reason to get rid of him.

As far as Andrews I watched him as he got more playing time as the year went by. He seemed like a great athlete who didn't know how to play. He would akwardly miss his guy. I saw him get benched in the last game of the season for two horrible plays in a row. This team is not at the point where they can mess around with the offensive line. They have to sign to proven starters. Jacob Bell has to be one of them and Sean Locklear has to be the other. Then they should draft another mid round so that they never have this problem again. Once they have the offensive line set in free agency they should use the draft to get two front 7 players on defense. Ideally with the 6th pick Long, Dorsey or Ellis and with the 2nd round pick Grable or Groves.

So we trade the number six pick for Rob Carpenter and Marcus Spears, who then sit on the bench behind two other guys? Hmm. Depth is important, but it's not THAT important.

FYI - Kendall Langford dropped like 20 pounds and is now playing at around 270. He has effectively taken himself out of his niche as a 3-4 end.

I Dont like getting rid of Shaun Ellis he's learning the three four and he's a good player. Fine on Barrett just for Depth i guess is okay. The free agency is huge and i like it. Tommy Kelly would be a good fit as our DE. Johnson's a big target at WR like dat pick up. Sopoaga is a beast he can be a real good NT for us i think. Andrews and Bell are great pickups but i doubt we get them both. Randall gay alongside Revis would be a good solid tandem only real problem i have is trading the pick to the cowboys and for Bobby Carpenter and Spears ? I Dunno. Overall not bad just doubt we spend that much money in free agency considering we never spend much.
