Too long to post, but it appears this shifts it from a passer rating to a QB rating. It appears much more complicated, but more accurate for the position. I don't know what to think yet.

    Here are the basics:

A quick primer on the fundamentals of Total Quarterback Rating:

-Scoring: 0-100, from low to high. An average QB would be at 50.

-Win Probability: All QB plays are scored based on how much they contribute to a win. By determining expected point totals for almost any situation, Total QBR is able to apply points to a quarterback based on every type of play he would be involved in.

-Dividing Credit: Total QBR factors in such things as overthrows, underthrows, yards after the catch and more to accurately determine how much a QB contributes to each play.

-Clutch Index: How critical a certain play is based on when it happens in a game is factored into the score.

Here's a link to the list of how the QBs fared in 2010:

Interesting.. Sanchez about middle of the pack/slightly below average, sounds about right for year 2.

Here's hoping he's in the top 10 this year

Yeah, I guess his clutchness cancelled out some of the inaccuracies in the middle of the season.

Freeman had a great rating, but I think that will take a step back when he plays some better teams this year. I think he's going to be a solid QB though.

I'd say the list is fairly accurate. Whatever the math is on it now it seems like it works. That's about where I'd put Sanchez last year, especially just looking at the regular season.

From what I've heard him saying this offseason I think he's got the right focus on what he's got to fix:

    1) Start fast. 6-15 by halftime was way too common this year.

    2) Red-zone. You have a solid tight end and now a jump-ball huge target in Burress for tight spaces. Use them.

On a side note, further scientific evidence that Chad Henne sucks is always a plus.

I was watching the espn special on this at the gym. Taking their self fellating into account it still seemed like a pretty good measuring stick of how a qb performed. According to this rating the best game a qb has had in the last 3 years is vick against Washington last year. Hard to argue that one.

    True Fact.

My mother's best friend is a Dolphin's Fan, and she sees the need to call me every time they play. Now I have more ammo for her about this douche.

DVR'd it and just watched it. Here's what I hated most. They said game situations weigh heavily. Yet Brady is #1 and Sanchez doesn't even make top 10. I get the Pats were 14-2 last year, but they were well in control of most of those games, so Brady's "total QB rating" should be fucking lower. Meanwhile, Sanchez steps up in PLAYOFF games, so, his shit should quite frankly be the hightest. Even in that Pats game, his effort in the second half was sick.

In sum, this shit is far too subjective and just as bad (just less confusing) as the Passer Rating. More ESPN gayness.

Ha, you missed the part where playing better gives you a higher score?
