https://www.google.com/amp/s/theram...20/03/08/nfl-rams-logo-hat-leak-chargers/amp/ Holy mutha lovin’ shite. How do billion dollars corporations spend millions on brand development and marketing only to come up with this kind of garbage? The perfect description I read of this is that it looks like a generic logo a video game would use when they don’t have the NFL License. time to sonic the hedgehog this and change it now based on fan backlash.
LOL..... no way. Then again, the JETS are in the media capital of the world and botched theirs too... After seeing these, I need to update the portfolio and start sending out resumes.
Haha, that's horrible. They should have just used the Phantasm ball: Great horror flick, by the way. As a matter of fact, if they had used something like that I would be mildly jealous. They get a murder ball and we get a box of Andes mints. :/
At least the Jets just made a bad version of the logo that still feels familiar; this not only completely destroys the goodwill of the existing brand but actually captures the branding of their in-city rival better than their own brand. It would be the equivalent of the Jets going with blue and red in their next logo design. The backlash is going to be fun to watch.
Interesting that the article says each team will have a new hat at the draft with a slogan on the side. Can the Jets hat say anything other than "SAME OLD JETS?"
It's really a microcosm of what happens when organizations (not just football) likely have a boss at the top that everyone fears. I'm sure this was the design child of the head of the Rams marketing department. I'm sure it was shown to hundreds throughout the marketing department and the entire organization. Do you think anyone stopped and said 'Hey John, I'm not so sure about this one. I think it would be better this way?' No. Because John wouldn't like that. This was his idea. How dare the marketing associate disagree with me! I am the Vice President of Marketing! And so the creation of the yes man continues.
My understanding is that the Rams own that town. Many people there flat out don't like the Chargers. That's not gonna change because of a ugly logo.
The threat isn’t that they will switch to be Chargers fans, because that’s not happening, but fans can become less interested in the brand, which is different than the team.
What is this? There is no way this is legit. I can't even begin to imagine how anyone could think that is going to be the new logo.
