New Playstation Questions....

    Is there any way to use the same username/online tag on a different playstation as the name I always use to play my online games with? The reason I ask is because I am about to get another PS3 (for the bedroom) because we are looking for a bluray player and I need an escape route when my significant other looks to watch her shows.

    Is there anyway to use the same name and just log in as Scikotic1 on a different PS3, or is this wishful thinking?

    It always asks you for a username and password unless you set it to automatically remember correct? I would think you could just enter your username and password like you are using on the other unit. Your trophies and info are not actually stored on the PS3 if I read things correctly.

    I dont mind about keeping my trophies and what not, I just want to be able to use the same username to play my games online. I would hate to have to switch names everytime I go to use the PS3 upstairs in the bedroom. That would just suck.

    Can anyone verify if I can use the same name on a new PS3 system?

    Im about to do the same thing.

    But Sci, if you are going to do this with Modern Warfare 2, on the new system you won't have any of your guns, it will be from scratch.

    Back up your data on a flash drive and upload it on the new PS3...it the data should have your Username and pass set anyway.

    Why wouldnt I have the guns if I sign in as Scikotic1?

    Game data is on the PS3.

    Trophy collection and game data are different.

    When my old ps3 broke i was able to use my same username for my new one, you just got to sign in.

    That makes sense, games saves and so on on the PS3, trophies on the PS Network server. I didn't mean to mislead, wasn't totally sure but was sure I read about trophies being stored on EA's server, not the PS3

    So I have to somehow transfer my game data from one PS3 to the other? Im assuming then I wouldnt have to worry about guns and stuff for COD MW2. Aren't all my guns saved online or something though...

    Yeah just use a flash drive. The ps3 has a back up utility so you can back up our game data in case the HD craps out.

    when I'm back I the united states and by my ps3. I'll write you a little walkthrough.

    You can just log in with your name on the other ps3. I can't confirm that your mw2 guns would be saved, but when i did it all my mw1 and resistance stuff was saved, so i imagine it would be the same
