I wasn't sure where to put this, but this seems appropriate enough.

I see now that Netflix now lets you get a disc from them where you can stream content directly through to your TV. I heard the content they offer through streaming isn't as much. Has anyone used this? Just wondering if there's a wide variety of content available or if its pretty limited.

I have it for XBOX, it's part of my overall Netflix subscription. It's convenient in the sense that I can stream directly to my TV from the xbox, but the selection isn't great. There are about 10 genres: TV, Comedy, Drama, Horror, etc that you choose from with each genre having a list of about 100 movies you can watch. A lot of the movies there aren't worth watching.

Say you wanted to watch Iron Man, you can't just search for it in Netflix (on the Xbox) and stream it, you'd have to hope it's in the Action genre and find it. Hope that makes sense.

I get two movies at a time while also having access to instant streaming over my 360. Something to note: every movie through the netflix database is available for DVD rental, but not all of them are available for instant streaming (which is how you would watch it over your game console)

As far as the content goes, it is hit or miss. It really depends on your preferences. There is lots of crap to sift through, but you will find diamonds in the rough. I find myself watching lots of old TV series, comedies, and documentaries. Some genres I really don't even bother looking it because it would be a waste of time to even read the descriptions of these movies let alone watch them.

I don't have Cable on my floor and I've had Netflix for the last 8 months and its been well worth the price. I also have a 3 year old nephew and a 2 year old niece over all the time and there is a huge selection of kids shows which also get lots of attention from them.

Also, when you subscribe to netflix you can watch any of the instant stream movies directly over your computer screen.

Actually you can. You have to go to the netflix website and add the selected movie to your instant queue.

I don't even use the Netflix discs. All I do is the streaming. It's awesome.

If you are unsure, I would recommend trying a 1 month free trial they offer. Personally, I enjoy their selection of streaming movies and TV Shows. I can usually always find something to watch and enjoy. For TV shows they have all the seasons of LOST, Weeds, Dexter, South Park,Dollhouse, Rescue Me, Bones, CSI, XFiles, Law and Order, 24, and The Shield to name a few.

I use my PS3 to watch netflix and it's very simple. They mail you a disc in about 2 days and all you have to do is pop in the disc and netflix just loads up like a game/DVD. If your internet isn't the greatest, it will adjust the video quality automatically so you can watch the show/movie without any loading times or interruptions.

Netflix is also very quick to mail out DVDs. From the time I put a DVD in my mailbox to the time another one arrives is usually about 2-3 business days.

Also- I used to use blockbuster online, which is the same thing as netflix minus the streaming option. The one thing that blockbuster has is the ability to bring your watched DVDs back to blockbuster and then rent any DVD(s) from the store at no charge. In addition to this, as soon you bring the movie(s) to the store, they mail the next one(s) to you.

I do it through the xbox. Its good not great. They give you selections like the guy above said but you can add more online they go into a separate category. The selection is mainly tv shows and mostly B movies but there's plenty to choose from and there are plenty of hidden gems in the mix.
