New Orleans Saints - Malcolm Jenkins DB Ohio State 15. Houston Texans - Clay Matthews OLB USC 16. San Diego Chargers - Tyson Jackson DE LSU 17. New York Jets – Jeremy Maclin WR Mizzou With the recent signing of Torry Holt to the Jaguars i really doubt them picking up another receiver and passing on probably the most physically gifted prospect in the whole draft in Vontae Davis. Oakland is a possibility but with Michael Crabtree on the board it should be hard for the Raiders to pick him over Maclin, i know he isnt the fastest but still will be the WR to work with Russell. Maclin should provide us the deep threat we have been missing since Moss left and an immediate replacement for Coles. 18. Denver Broncos (from CHI) – Everette Brown OLB Florida State 19. New York Jets –LeSean McCoy RB Pittsburgh With Thomas Jones getting older and now with his current contract issues Rb is a major priority especially for whoever our qb is. Leon Washington is a great player that should see the field more but more as a Reggie Bush type role. McCoy should be used as the traditional role , if Jones doesnt come back.I see McCoy as a huge steal , yeah he's only 190 but he could easily add another 10-15 and not have that effect his game. 53. New York Jets (from NO)– Lawrence Sidbury OLB Richmond I see us drafting another pass rusher somewhere in this draft.I hope its this kid, I do think Gholston will improve significantly from last year but u can never have enough pass rushers and I think he could be effective in place of Thomas. 77. I don't know about the Cardinals drafting Chris Wells. That seems to be a bad fit. He hardly caught any passes in college. It's a skill he's really going to have to work at in the NFL. I also haven't seen him block very much. The Cardinals need a back who can help them in the passing game. Donald Brown or LeSean McCoy would be better fits at pick #31.
Top 5 looks good. Apparently Michael Crabtree is OFF the Browns radar at #5, so I guess Orakpo has to be the pick. I guess OT is a wildcard though.. Vontae Davis is not worth that pick anymore. His stock is falling and might be a 2nd round pick. Tyson Jackson won't make it past the Packers at #9 and Aaron Maybin is a mega-reach there IMO. He has way too many question marks and shares a similar draft value to Vontae Davis at this point IMO. Same deal with Andre Smith except I think he's going to take an Alan Branch or Winston Justice-like fall. I'm not totally sold on Maclin (I'd rather Britt, Robiskie, Pettigrew or Moreno), but if he was our pick, I wouldn't be too upset either. Nice choice for the Colts. I was thinking about Gilbert to Indy. His ability to penetrate and get to the QB would make him a great fit for them. They would need a NT next to him though. I think he would also be effective for them on running downs as a DE. Great pick. I hate Chris Wells to the Cardinals. Try Donald Brown. He's a better fit and would compliment the power-back Tim Hightower better. Personally, I see Sean Smith falling quite a bit more, but that's just my feeling. I think Barwin goes higher than #47. I have the Pats taking him at #23.. Quite a fall for Evander Hood. IMO, he could go as high as #16 to San Diego. Oh, I highly doubt the Colts would let him get past them in the 1st round. I think Moore goes in the 3rd round at best. Great Dallas pick.. Pat White would be an interesting fit for them. Loving the McCoy pick. I'd be thrilled. He's just an excellent prospect. Robiskie is a legit first round pick now.. He's just too good of a player to go any lower than the top of the 2nd round. From what I hear, Phil Loadholt is a 1st round prospect (Gil Brandt and a couple other analysts). I have him going to Minnesota in the first on that note. Duke Robinson is taking a big fall on draft day. Just wait and see.. He's another guy who's stock has been taking a big hit. Of course, it only takes on GM to change that. Sidbury is a nice prospect, but I'd like to see them go in another direction. That's about it I guess. It's always a challenge - a very fun one, however - to put together a 3-round mock, but overall, this was a very solid read.
Yeah ive been workin on this mock for a while but havent able to put it out till now cause some many other things came up.
I don't know if he'll got before William Beatty, maybe Eben Britton though... Loadholt has all the makings of a dominant run blocking right tackle. BUT Right now, he plays way too high and it hurts him A LOT -- during the Senior Bowl practices, PL got worked all week by good pass rushers. This can be fixed with good coaching though - it's all technique. He's a HUGE and powerful prospect. I like him a lot and I'd like to see the Jets take him at 52 if he's there. That wouldn't bother me at all...
Great call on the Wells pick. I am surprised with the Cardinals, but hopefully it works out. I am not right about every player upon whom I comment. I hope this is one of those cases.
U were actually rite if Brown was on the board they would have probably chosen him , i just didnt see the Colts choosing Brown. But wells should fit the power running game Wisenhunt had in Pit
