    FA SIGNINGS

    Chris Canty DE Dallas Cowboys
I don?t know how much he likes Dallas but I would look to get out out of that soap opera if I was him. With all of the new 3-4 teams there will be a lot of competition to get him but since we are an already established 3-4 team hopefully he will take that into consideration.

    Bart Scott ILB Baltimore Ravens
I think one of the linebackers is gone no matter from Baltimore, most likely it will be Scott since he can be replaced by another young lb that they have Antwan Barnes. You cant replace the pass rush that Suggs brings or the leadership Lewis provides.

    Jim Leonhard S Baltimore
Literally came from no where as he stepped in for Dawan Landry , I think he follows Rex for an opportunity to start right away or at least get plenty of playing time.

    1. LeSean McCoy RB Pittsburgh
Now I would rather go defense but, TO ME I don?t see any one worthy of the pick or anyone who has better potential than McCoy.No we don?t necessarily need a RB but eventually we are gonna need down the line, why not bring one in now instead of waiting to pick one down the road.Watching McCoy he reminds me of Ladanian Tomlinson .Tomlinson because his cutting ability his amazing and usually gets away from the first defender either by stiff arm or making him miss. Doesn't have great breakaway speed but he faster than what his 40 time will reveal. Another guys he is similar to Reggie Bush , but in a good way he constantly tries to break for the big run, but he has gotten better at being more patient and has been following his reads better this year, so that shouldn?t be a problem.
Another reason LeSean should be picked would be our QB situation, I don?t see the team signing a guy to play whether it be Jeff Garcia or Kurt Warner, because it would be just like the situation last year an old vet who will have to play in a new situation, id rather see what we have in Clemens or Ratliff honestly.

    2. Patrick Chung S Oregon
Kerry Rhodes said it best how do you expect him consistently make plays when he cant really trust the guy next to him. Even though we can possibly sign Leonhard, I see Chung as the bpa at this point I don?t see a NT available to pick as a lot of 3-4 teams are ahead of us or a corner that fits. Chung can provide the first consistent starter at safety sign Erik Coleman fell off. Chung played rover in Oregon so he?s used to playing close to the line, allowing Kerry to revert back to his ball hawking ways.

    3. Cody Brown OLB UConn
Another pass rusher to bring in for our lack of one.Brown actually already has experience at linebacker and has 4.6 speed so the 3-4 should be an easy transition for him.

    4. Mark Parson CB Ohio
I originally that thought Parson would be a higher draft pick but theres not a lot of buzz about him right now.Plus he didn?t have that monster season he had in 07 statistically, regardless put into the right situation Parson could thrive as the corner opposite Revis.

    5.Vance Walker DE Georgia Tech
Another body to put on that line, Vance had a good senior bowl and really improved his draft stock.

    6.Jason Phillips ILB TCU
A young lb who maybe we can build up to start one day

    7. Antonio Dixon NT Miami
Another body on the d-line and fits the size for another NT

    NY JETS 53 MAN ROSTER
    QB-Brett Ratliff, Kellen Clemens,Erik Ainge
RB-Thomas Jones, LeSean McCoy, Leon Washington,
    FB-Tony Richardson
WR-Laverneus Coles, Jerricho Cotchery, Chansi Stuckey,Brad Smith,David Clowney, Wallace Wright
OT-D'Brickashaw Ferguson, Damien Woody, Wayne Hunter
OG-Alan Faneca, Brandon Moore, Rob Turner
    C-Nick Mangold,
    TE-Dustin Keller,Chris Baker,Bubba Franks
DE-Chris Canty, Shaun Ellis,Kenyon Coleman, CJ Mosley, Mike Devito
DT-Kris Jenkins, Sione Pouha, Antonio Dixon
OLB- Calvin Pace, Vernon Gholston(hopefully), Bryan Thomas,Cody Brown, Marques Murell
ILB-David Harris, Bart Scott, Jason Trusnik, Cody Spencer
CB-Darrelle Revis, Dwight Lowery, Mark Parson, Ahmad Caroll, Drew Coleman

I'm not sure Chung is needed after bringing in Leonhard. Replace him with a Britt/Nicks in the second and I'm loving that draft. I like the idea of drafting a top RB in the first.

Good point on McCoy. Ryan is going to want to run the ball effectively, and with a lineup of Jones, McCoy, Washington, our run game would be a force to be reckoned with. If Sanchez, a DE such as Tyson Jackson, or a CB like Vontae Davis is at 17, I wouldn't mind that selection either.
We should pick for offensive line depth from the 4th round down.

Thats the thing i really would love to get a WR either Nicks or Britt, but i doubt either of them fall to #53, so with that even if sign Leonhard to me, Chung would be the bpa at that spot.Id rather choose him than reach for a guy like Iglesias or Derrick Williams.

I agree.... Have you also thought about maybe drafting a guy like tyson jackson in the first and then shonn green in the second. I love how this kid powers over rushers

Nice free agent signings. Leonhard and Scott would have a good chance to land here if they hit the market. I'd prefer to draft a DE rather than sign another one to a big contract, but if we had to, Canty would be nice.

I'm a Pitt fan and I really like McCoy. I too would prefer defense, but he would be an excellent addition. I have us taking Chung in the 3rd in my upcoming off season. This might be a bit late since he looks like a great prospect. If we get Leonhard, forget Scott or vice versa.

Cody Brown would be risky. He's a developmental prospect.

I'd be fine with the rest, but we need more CB help. A quality free agent or a 1st or 2nd round pick on one is necessary.

If every other pick besides our first is defensive, I am cool with McCoy in the first.

I could see McCoy and I like Chung as well but it seems foolish to draft him, if we sign Leonhard. other than that it looks good

There are 3 safeties I like better than Leonhard in free agency: Sean Jones, O.J. Atogwe, and Jarrad Page.

The thing about Leonhard, he step into Rex's defense and made plays right away, should continue to do the same for the Jets. I've read a couple articles out of Baltimore, it's almost certain Leonhard becomes a NY Jet, at least that's how the Baltimore press feels.

Just thinking do you have us taking McCoy over Moreno, Wells, Sanchez, Stafford, Jenkins, Davis, Mauagula, Laurinitus, Raji, Jackson, Maclin & Crabtree over McCoy. All of these are based off of Jet needs but the Moreno & Wells picks who I like better than McCoy or do you have all of these guys gone by the time we pick.

By our pick, all linemen worth the pick are gone and all of them are LT prospects anyway. Why waste such a high pick on a RT or G?

I like the draft Nesquik; I'd really like McCoy if Sanchez isn't there.

Chung would be good if we don't go for Leonhard....honestly, if we go that way in FA, I don't see us doing the same in the draft. An alternative if we go in this direction could be Sean Smith, if he doesn't shoot up like Mr. E is projecting since he could play corner as well.

I see pretty much all of those guys gone by our pick, except Wells i think he i will be there definitely Moreno being a possibility for the Chargers. The only person i see maybe being there that i would have a hard time choosing over McCoy is Vontae Davis. If he falls to us i probably still lean to getting McCoy only because i think its better to have a great running game than 2 great corners.

U can never have enough rb's, plus how much are we really gonna pass next year, Leon will have plenty of touches its Thomas Jones who will have his carries limited

Yeah like WW85 said Leonhard has ties to Rex it makes too much sense besides Jarrad Page is a restricted FA,OJ Atogwe even though he gets picks he gives up alot of plays, Sean Jones maybe but he'll probably ask for 2 much

Sean jones and O.J. Atogwe are great safeties but unfortunately i believe they will be resigned or will cost way too much. Im not a big fan of jarrad page

Sean jones is also injured alot though

Seems to me that a RB like Shonn Greene would be a better fit for the Ryan system. Greene looks for contact and is a true power back. He compliments Leon and TJ very well.

I like this mock offseason overall, but I'd probably go QB/CB in the first round instead of McCoy. If we do pick McCoy though, a CB like Macho Harris would be a better pick in the 2nd.

I've been on the McCoy bandwagon since he announced he was entering the draft so that pick alone sold me. I like every move except Chung and only because you already have us bringing in Leonhard. I'd rather see us go CB in the second round if we take McCoy in the first.

I like the free agent signings and think they're highly likely - or at least the Baltimore guys because of Rex Ryan. As for your draft, after the first two rounds the entire draft is a huge project. None of those guys are walk in starters at the next level. I like Chung and I like McCoy. However, doesn't McCoy have some injury problems in his history? Too many defensive guys taken, despite Rex loving the defense he won't dick over huge needs like WR in this draft.

Our first pick is so critical
Rex Ryan can go QB because there will be a good one available I believe at 17.
There are good LBs CBs WRs and DEs who can make an impact with that pick as well.
I don't know. I like Josh Freeman at QB. I like him more than Sanchez because at least he has more playing time and his upside is bigger than any of the other QBs being considered before him.
You can't go wrong with a LB, CB, DE here either
The WRs are not bad. IT is a pretty deep class, but Maclin for me is the only one worth taking. He is a big play threat and we need that on this Jets team.
Ryan will have to go with the guy who can give him the most for his buck at 17.
There will be plenty of good options, and I feel we can't go wrong here, but maybe we should think about Josh Freeman at 17. He will not be there in the second rd.
