Doesn't really need my commentary. I like bold mock drafts, but...

Pick number 17 is The Family Circus, just sitting there, waiting to suck.

I don't really care about GIlbert in the second, but I would much rather have Hodd or Robiskie since they're still available.

I think Crabtree will likely go higher but it wouldn't shock me if he dropped some on draft day. I don't think this mock is so crazy from a Jets perspective, if as all indications suggest they are set on taking a QB they will take whichever one they like best over anyone else that is available.

I have more of a problem with the second round and not because we pass on Gilbert, who BTW is so overrated on this board. The problem I have I just don't see a need for a CB with a first day pick and think we should continue building the O and getting some weapons for Freeman.

If we pass on Michael Crabtree, Kyle Brady becomes an excellent Jets draft decision by comparison.

If there is anyone more overrated on this board then Gilbert it is Crabtree. I can definetely see him dropping on draft day. He hasn't been able to work out, he measured shorter then his listed height, he has very inconsistent hands and he is coming from a system that could make any WR look good.

If Freeman turns out to be Big Ben, passing on Crabtree or anyone else will be the best draft pick this team ever made.

I don't personally think we are hurting at QB. Unless Freeman is supposed to come in and start, day one, then I don't want the Jets to make this pick.

Crabtree would come in and start right out the gate. It makes way more sense to take someone of Crabtree's caliber, then a QB who is only shooting up draft boards because of the dropoff in talent at the postion, after him. I think Freeman would go in the 2nd-3rd rounds otherwise, maybe even later then that.

I gotta disagree with you there, Vision. Gilbert? Yes he could possibly be overrated. I honestly believe, however, that whatever team drafts him will have a 10 year starter at 3-4 DE.

But Crabtree? No, I don't think he's overrated. He did play in a system that skewed his production positively. But if you watched that guy play, you know he's the real deal. Forget about height and forty time. Jerry Rice was only 6'2", with a 4.7 forty.

As for drops, a receiver with soft hands is very valuable. But it isn't everything. T.O. drops a shitload of passes. But if T.O. was a solid teammate instead of psychotic and distracting, I wouldn't hesitate to call him one of the best receivers of all time.

Besides, I think drops are coachable, like fumbles. I thought Tiki Barber would never be able to cure his fumbling, but he did. There is no single player I'd rather come away with in this draft than Michael Crabtree.

Its really interesting how variable judgments are on about a day to day basis as the draft approaches. I'm now under the impression that the first WR to go will be Maclin, and he'll be followed by Britt. In other words, Crabtree does drop.

That is absolutely false in regards to Freeman, the kid has the most upside of any QB in the draft and could be a superstar on the next level with the right coaching.

In all likelihood we aren't winning a SB no matter who we take with the first pick. Problem is in all likelihood we aren't winning any SBs with Kellen Clemens at QB. It is completely ridiculous to pass on a franchise QB prospect because he won't come in and start immediately.

I like Crabtree as a prospect but don't love him. I don't think he is anywhere near the prospect that a Calvin Johnson or Fitzgerald or Andre Johnson were during their draft years. Those are the only kind of WR prospects that should be top 5 picks. Given the pre draft circumstances surrounding him and the program that he is coming out of, I don't think it is completely unreasonable to think he may drop some come draft day.

I would have no problem if we passed on him and selected Freeman instead, it fills a bigger need and there is no more important position on the field. With that said I do think Crabtree is gone by the time we are on the clock.

How can you say that is false? I can't say it is fact, but, the jury is still out on all these college players.

What evidence do you have that makes Freeman the QB with the most upside in this draft? I think he is complete poop dick, but that is just me.

Then again, I think all the QB's in this draft kinda suck. I can't see any of these QB's becoming the next big thing. I think they have potential to be "starters" but not necessarily "franchise" QB's. Not worth it, they wouldn't do anything more for us then we already have.

This is my opinion though, we'll see in a couple years.

Absurd. Crabtree dropping to 19 will not happen, regardless of his foot he is the best player in this draft. The first team with a need at WR should take him, if not the second. No way he drops all this way. And the Jets are NOT going to take Freeman with this pick.
