OK, understand I have terrible RBs - Jacobs (meh) + Caddy (shakey), LJ (released), Leon (IR), Beanie Wells (shakey, getting better). I have kick-ass WRs that keep me alive: Fitzgerald, Roddy White, MSW, Santonio Holmes Offer on the table: LT + Roy Williams (filler) for Witten + Santonio Yeah I loose value-wise but I am desperate for a RB and almost out of options. I have Celek who has been better than Witten this year, and I can loose Santonio and still be OK. LT gets OAK this week and has a nice schedule coming up. Pull the trigger?
I wouldn't. LT has looked pretty bad this season. He hasn't done well against bad teams either (55 yds vs. Raiders). The Chargers now win in the air and not on the ground. edit: and his upcoming schedule doesn't look great. After Oakland he has the Giants, Eagles, and Broncos.
I don't know that I'd do that deal (LT looks like he's done), but I'd definitely do one like it. That being said, however, if this is the best deal you can get, I'd do it. Roy is garbage, but you don't care about the WR. Its a small downgrade in TE. Celek has been very good this season. But LT is a large upgrade for your RBs.
His schedule has some cream puff games mixed in. I watched him closely the last 2 weeks. Its not that he's lost a lot, but his line cant run-block worth a damn anymore. I gotta think for pride that they will step it up starting with OAK. The biggest thing for me is loosing Witten, but Romo doesnt seem to be in love with him like past years. Then again, McNabb isnt looking for Celek either. 8 Oak 9 @NYG 10 Phi 11 @Den 12 KC 13 @Cle 14 @Dal 15 Cin 16 @Ten Edit: Noticed the 55yds against the Raiders week 1, but I think thats the game he got hurt. I think I'm talking myself into it, this could make or break my season... I'm 5-2.
I'd do it. IMO, in a redraft, LT is the best player in that deal. You're losing you're 4th WR and a TE (that you've already replaced w/Celek) for a #2 RB. Who knows, Roy might turn into a decent player for you as well. He has the talent, and you're getting him as a throw-in...the ultimate buy-low.
