My family friend is running a $60 fantasy football league (with $10 going to CF research) and nobody else in the league besides for me really knows football. That being said, it's a very weird league.

It's run on CBSSPORTS, it's an 8-team league, standard scoring, the FLEX position can include a 2nd QB (which essentially makes it a 2 QB league) and you start 4 WRs every week instead of two.

Not sure what my strategy should be. I have the fourth pick, and I think I want to load up on some WRs fairly early since we need to start four. I don't think I should take Calvin 4th though.

    Thoughts?

Definitely take Calvin 4th. I've taken him with the 2nd pick two years in a row in another league and I've never regretted it.

I would probably lean towards RB / QB for the first two picks depending on who drops.

First three picks will probably be AP, Brees, Rodgers leaving you with the second best RB in round one.

Even if there is a run on QBs Romo will probably be there in round two and he was the # 3 QB last year. Too many people are sleeping on him.

I completely forgot to take into account the changes in QB draft position since it's a two QB league. Thanks for that.

If one of Brees/Rodgers fall to four, should I consider taking them?

I would go WR early and target RG3, Wilson, Kaep, Luck (in that order) as my QB's to grab rounds 3-5.

He is in a standard league (not PPR) and QBs will be scarce since they can be flexed.

I know they start four WRs but I still don't get why you guys are suggesting that he takes a WR in round one when he can get a top 2 QB or RB depending on what is taken before him.

And yes you should strongly consider Brees and Rodgers if they are there at 4.

Was a very weird draft, so I'm not quite sure how to feel. I'm very weak on WRs, but I excel everywhere else I think.

    QBs: Brees, Rodgers, Manuel
RBs: T. Richardson, S. Jackson, D. Wilson, Gio Bernard
WRs: Welker, Antonio Brown, T.Y. Hilton, Tavon Austin, Blackmon, Broyles, Malcolm Floyd, DeAndre Hopkins, Emmanuel Sanders, Kenbrell Thompkins
    TE: Jimmy Graham
    D/ST: Indy (I'm streaming)
    K: Randy Bullock

Thoughts? Wilson fell to something ridiculous like the 9th round so I just had to take him. Still wish I had a stronger WR corps though.

How the hell did you get Brees and Rodgers? You weren't kidding. Nobody in that league knows football.

You got Graham who's like a top WR so that helps to cover for the weakness of your receiver corp.

This is a bad year to stream defence. A lot of good new QB's now means less weak matchups to play off of.

I'd put money on your team winning a championship.

It seems that the other guys all reached for WRs too early.

I never got this fascination with WRs. To me they are just too unpredictable game to game to rely upon. Say you got Megatron. I'm sure he'll post great annual numbers, but in any given game the opponent might double team him and his numbers will be low. Instead some WR2 or even unknown WR3 will get most of the meat. Now take into account QBs tendency to go to TE when coverage is heavy and my Sidney Rice type player whom I drafted in 8th round looks pretty decent.

I'm not disputing that top shelf WR will be a game maker for you at least a couple of times. My point is that I'd rather spend higher picks on additional RB. Someone like Green-Ellis would give me steady production instead of spotty stellar game here and there.

For this league, 2QBs and standard scoring, I'd spend my high picks on QBs and RBs and get WRs later, then play the matchup.

I feel this team is my biggest competition:

    QBs: Brady, Stafford, Vick, Bradford
RBs: Foster, Marshawn Lynch, Joique Bell, Eddie Lacy, DeAngelo Williams
WRs: AJ Green, Brandon Marshall, Jordy Nelson, Steve Smith (CAR), Kenny Britt, Josh Gordon, Denarius Moore
    TEs: Tony Gonzalez, Owen Daniels
    K: Justin Tucker
    D/ST: Houston

    Who has the better team?

About equal, but it really doesn't matter. You both will be making the playoffs and likely both as pretty high seed so chances are you won't meet until at least semis. By then there will be injuries, good and bad waiver picks, etc. don't worry about the other team until about 13 weeks from now.
