Actually, you hope you didn't. If it is proven you did, you lose either draft picks or are fined. I think it is too hard to prove anyway, and 99% of the charges never can be proven.
I guess I'm just confused as to how they can file tampering charges. But I wait jetsin2004's explanation on it, as I'm sure he will have one
Also, today was the day of 'discovery' in the Branch hearing, and the Patriots may have learned something in that process. I can't think of what it could be though.
Latest word is that Belichick and Pioli were calling Branch outside of negotiations, encouraging him to fire his agent. That's certainly verboten. I don't think there are any clean hands on this one.
But the whole Herm situation was perfectly okay? I can't wait until this happens and the Jets front office gives a shit storm.
Possibly negotiated outside of the window, or talked what possible deal they would make before a window was given if they wanted to sign him after this season. Again, just guesses on my part.
I really dont think there is much truth to this, or at least we are being mislead because i cannot see this coming from belicheck and aiming it at Mangini, unless Mangini has cut off all friend ties with his old cronies from the pats...that would be the cut throat approach, but i just see it happening, nor the charges ( if any) being proven
Or, there was an earlier report that there was something "quirky" about the Jets offer. Perhaps they're prepared to argue that the Jets' offer was a pretext, intended to simply harden Branch's resolve. Tough case, I'd think.
I just think the pats are f'ing with the Jets. Plain and simple. Make us use more resources to argue this rather then concentrate on the upcoming NE game.
