What he doesn't get is you use BOTH FA AND THE DRAFT, to build the team. Not every team picks 3 or 4 starters every year.

I can't stand Gary Myers, right up to his very punchable face.

He's an alarmist, that's how his articles get hits.

totally agree - this could be our second chance....

i know alot of people do not think he is a pro bowl QB but IMO he will be one of the best in the right situation.....

i would most definitely give up a 1 and 3 this year AND a first next year.

and yes maybe its good i am NOT the gm but thats what it is...

So first he bashes the Jets for not building through the draft, and now he suggests we go trade for another team's QB.

    Asshole...

    hes claims have no basis...

the jets core is all home grown....and they build through FA....they just happen to entice high priced FA...

    hes an assclown...

then turns around and says trade for cutler hahah what an idiot....

hey denver we'll give you the # 17 draft pick in the draft....we know the lions are offering you the #1 but we want to run the ball all game anyway so just do it....

    sensible as this is....ill pass

    +1

Maybe try to give them Clemens instead of the 3rd this year. If he is truly on the block you have to get him - and I've been saying stick with our young guys all offseason. Cutler only going into year 4 so it makes sense to get him.

jil, do you really think they're giving away a Pro Bowl QB without getting a solid QB in return? Trading for the 17th pick in the draft won't automatically get them some blue chip QB. I think McDaniels would have to be very sold on one of the young QBs in this year's draft to take a chance like that. I think the trade was only on the table because he is so in love with Cassel.

He has no rhyme or reason. He just throws out very exciting ideas. That being said, I am very intrigued by Jay Cutler.

jay cutler is not needed.....this team is going to run the ball all game and pound the rock .... jay cutler is a waste of cap space....a good player but not needed....besides who is he going to throw to (if the jets were going to take a pass first approach which they arent)? cotch and clowney?

And it is not as if they signed a bunch of losers last year. Jenkins, Pace and Faneca were all starters and all solid.

Jay Cutler + our running game with a Ravens quality defense = instant superbowl contender.

yeah he'll be really useful handing the ball up the middle all game....clemens will do just fine....id rather deepen the WR core and give the ball to clemens...then spend money on a guy we wont fully utilize anyway

You realize Cutler has outperformed Elways first 3 years as a pro by a decent margin? You don't pass on a guy with potential like his if you have the opportunity to get him.

what ppl fail to realize is as it stands our WR core is subpar.....this is a run first team....ppl here need to accept it....

and also there is no way we have anything of use to offer denver...and if we make this trade i will be opposed to it...cutlers talented....but hes a cocky guy and he doesnt fit what this team is doing at all...
