The Jets go from 6 to 1 and exchange 2nd round picks, getting pick 57(Miami acquired from SD). That is a equals a 3rd round pick. We also give them our #7 this year and the worse of our #4's next year. That is almost the same trade Parcells made when the Rams picked Pace

Wait a minute, you would know that.

Curtis Martin has a better chance of winning the rushing title next year than this does of happening

Do you want us to be the butt of Draft Jokes yet again? Isn't the Warren Sapp fiasco enough for you?

If we gave them our 1st, our 2nd, our 7th and our 4th from next year and got nothing back we would still be 600 points short of getting the number 1 pick. That sounds more like a deal the Jets would make than Parcells.

If we wanted that pick it would cost our 1st, 2nd, next years 2nd and 3rd at least. Probably more..a lot more. Most likely our 1st and 2nd this year and our 1st next year.

There's no way we can lose more draft picks. We already would be much better suited to get some picks back via trade-down.

Chris Long isn't worth trading up for IMO. If he's around at #6, which is doubtful since Miami, St. Louis or Oakland will take him, than he's the choice. Otherwise, he shouldn't become a Jet.

I feel your pain because the guys we want will be gone by #6.

As bad as we sucked, we simply didn't suck enough.

Here's a better idea, instead of trading away our consolation prize for being bad...next time the season is in the toilet, make sure you lose your last game, no matter what

Sapp turned out to be better but we did get Hugh Douglas 4 picks later and he was no slouch at all.

He should become a Jet but not at #1, it's just too expensive.

I agree, to the extent that if McFadden is still on the board I would love to see the Jets get the Cowboys two first round picks for the Jets #6. From what I understand the Cowboys aren't willing to trade the two picks. But if they did, we could get a guy like Merling to replace Kenyon Coleman, and either a CB or WR with the other pick.

Enough of this losing the last game stuff already! Players and coaches at the pro level just don't do that (or shouldn't). I can just see Manny addressing the troops: OK guys go out and lose the game and assure us of better draft positioning. I'm sorry if you wind up getting injured in the process of playing in this meaningless game.

Simple solution - BPA!! The good teams get better by following this philosophy instead of drafting for need.

Interesting that you said "the guys we want" as in us fans. The FO may not want any of these guys, or have 10 guys all rated about the same and thus can't lose out at #6.

Lets face it, the draft is a crapshoot. So I'm not concerned that we're picking at #6 instead of #3. As long as the FO doesn't reach for someone they have rated much lower and take the BPA I will be happy whoever it is.

You only draft at the professional level and if you really think any of these players care about anything but their salaries when they come into a 3-12 game, think again. All they care about is not getting injured.

This mentality is so wrong I don't even begin to know how to help you. There's more to the game than the money, the players are scouted to avoid the 'money-only' mentality. Especially the Jets. Why do you think they shipped John Abraham out of town? The fact that you think that way doesn't surprise me one bit, though.
