Perfectly good draft... - Can Eric Winston play RT? If so than I'm fine with the pick. - I would prefer to see us take another defensive player with one of the last two picks. Preferably where Owen Daniels is selected... But very nicely done.
-The Cardinals have the 10 pick not the Rams -Gabe Watson is a fat lazy turd that we should not pick (and probably will not last until 35). If we want a NT Oshinowo at 97 would be the most sensible option. Other then that good draft!
Ugh, typo, I'll change that to the Cards. People either love or hate Watson. Just about every fatass NT worth their salt is called a fat lazy turd at some point.
Winston played LT at USC, but that was an OL blocking for a left handed QB, so his role was similar to a conventional RT, so I'm hoping he can make the move. His play dipped just a little in 2005 due to coming off a knee injury. However, I watched him play every week, and how often did USC have trouble running to to the left? He was potentially the 1st OT picked in the draft prior to his injury. On day 2 I was looking for players with huge upside, and Daniels is one of those guys he's 6'3 255 pounds and runs a 4.65 40. Only reason he'll last so long is 2 previous ACL injuries and not being a very good blocker. Well, his knee has been fine since 2002, and blocking can be taught. I have a feeling some team may even take a chance on him in the 5th. Assuming he's gone I'll have your defense pick as a backup option: Cletis Gordon - CB - Jackson State - 6'1 200 pounds 4.56 40 time. "Strengths: Has excellent size...Very athletic...Is more quick than fast...Exciting in the open field...Tough and will play through pain...Extremely versatile and is an all-around threat...Has a lot of experience...Tons of special teams value...Has some upside. Weaknesses: Did not play against much elite competition...Is not much of a tackler...Lacks elite timed speed...Raw and needs a lot of technique work because he gets by on sheer athleticism...Not very physical...Coverage skills are only average at best. Notes: Also played some wide receiver in college...Is probably an even better prospect as a return man than he is as a cornerback...A nice sleeper prospect who could be brought in as a developmental guy in the later rounds...A top return prospect."
Well, with the big announcement today, I'll update my mock. Jets trade #4 #35 #103 and next years 2nd rounder to NO for #4.
