I just finished the game on DVR so I'll keep this short since a lot of discussion has already taken place.

Wilson - look alright. Had some inaccurate throws and a few bad decisions. He's really quick and athletic. Showed some toughness.

OL - looked horrendous. This is an extremely big concern for us and Wilson specifically. Becton is a disaster and while I don't wish injury on anyone it may be a blessing in disguise. JD deserves some extreme shade for how poor this unit still is.

WR's - Davis is a safety blanket. Moore had some bad drops. Berrios another safety blanket.

RB's - didn't look great but I think our OL was more to blame than the RB's.

Defense - Looked alright. CMC is hard to stop. Good improvement for the D in the second half.

    Saleh - meh.

LaFleur - bad. Extremely predictable play calling, no balls whatsoever.

All in all, my main takeaway is that we need to improve the OL ASAP or at the very least have play calling that reduces the chances of Wilson taking a beating like that consistently.

Boomer + Gio made some interesting points this morning when talking about the Giants and Daniel Jones. And let me preface this by saying they're much better run organizations and our entire franchise needs some time to get it's feet under them.

But it's amazing how everything looks so easy for teams like the Chiefs and Rams in terms of offensive scheming (their words). The Rams had two wide open receivers running free for 50+ yard touchdowns. Travis Kelce is literally always open and that's a testament to him and Mahomes but still. The Chiefs end up with these nobodies (Hardman/Robinson + friends) wide open.

That's scheme as much as it is other decoys and such. I hope we get there one day. It didn't look much different than Gase's play calling last year.

Remember. This offense is supposed to pivot off of the run.

When you can't run, the entire offense is fucked.

I was thinking this yesterday. The offense is built on the run, can't run. The defense is built on pass rush and getting to the QB, can't get to the QB. Not a good combo for the first year Head Coach and Offensive Coordinator. However, I think both sides will improve in time, but definitely a rough start and clearly missing Carl Lawson.

With all due respect, guys, most offenses are built to play off the run and defenses built off of pressuring the quarterbacks. I see the point moreso on the one regarding offense though as it's supposed to be play action heavy with a young QB.

The point is still true. Saleh can't do what he wants on defense without a real pass rush and LaFleur can't run the offense smoothly if they can't run the ball. They have to adjust while the players learn and improve.

I had no problem with the OC gameplan. The obvious lack of OL execution was the major issue.

I don't think it's being stressed enough--the first-half may have been the worst-looking OL play I've ever seen in the NFL and I've watched at least 1000 games.

The difference between an average starter and a guy on the practice squad is not that large--4/5 times the PS guy will hold his own and maybe 1/5 times the average starter does a better job. Thats noticeable in a game and surely across a season.

Based on what I saw yesterday, seriously, the PS guys would have played better inside than McGovern and Van Rotten. How the coaching staff felt that they put the best product on the field yesterday is absurd-- our OL coach needs to be fired 'cause he's obviously incompetent. Sure we don't have the best guys talent wise but then you have to recognize that and scheme to minimize the deficiency--that dumbfuck thought he had a line out there that would protect zach and open running holes. Just collecting a fucking paycheck.
