Here it is... my last mock before the draft. I'll give my picks, a little info and why I take them.

    1st Round
    A) Vernon Davis TE University of Maryland: It's no secret Davis is an absolute beast. A 250+ lb TE who runs as fast as Reggie Bush. I know the MO is to not take a TE with the first pick but Davis with his size and speed can't be covered by a LB. He gives the offense something they lack..... a playmaker. He gives whoever is throwing the ball a big target with soft hands. Remeber the TE is a bailout in many times by a QB. Please don't tell me we can't draft a TE in the 1st round because he is everything this offense needs. A guy that can make plays.

    B) Nick Mangold C The Ohio State University: Mangold the best center in the draft and maybe to come out in the last few years. I would liked to take Mangold in the 2nd but I think if we don't take him here the Saints will right before us in round 2. Yes I know we signed Trey Teague but Teague can also play Tackle and if you think he is the C of the future you are mistaking. A leader who will be the Center of the New York Jets for many years to come.

    2nd Round

Joseph Addai RB Louisiana State University: A fast RB with good hands out of the backfield. Will be the lightning to our thunder and lightning along with Cedric Houston. Has only average size but his ability to catch the ball out of the backfield will make him a QB's best friend. Will not start immediatley but will be our RB of the future.

    3rd round

    A) Andrew Whitworth OT Louisiana State University: The second Tiger we take, with a mean streak and lots of intangibles Whitworth will take over for Jason Fabini at the RT. A big physical but not great tackle but will go out and give you 110% on every play. A leader and just the kind of player that we need to continue the rebuilding.

    B) Roger McIntosh OLB University of Miami: Could play either inside or outside , seriously can you ever go wrong with a player from The U? McIntosh has size and speed. Has some great athleticism and another guy who will be a locker room guy.

    4th round

LeKevin Smith DT University of Nebraska: Has the size to be a DT in the 3-4 (316). Doesn't always play hard but when he does he can be a monster stuffing the run. Also has some injury concerns but with his potential the reward outweighs the injury issues.

    5th round

Jeff Webb WR San Diego State: Runs a 4.0 forty and can make the big plays.Very physical and makes his QBs look better than they really are. Had 92 catches for over 1000 yards in his senior season. Yes 92 receptions for the Aztecs, has some character issues but so did Laverneus Coles coming out of college. I think Webb has steal written all over him. I saw this guy play in person and he was a way better player than Hank Baskett, the reason I say that is Baskett seems to be the MWC WR that is gaining the attention.

6th round, traded to Washington for Pat Ramsey

    7th round

Eric Bassey CB Oklahoma: Runs a 4.3 but appears to be just a guy with good measurables. Mangni got Try Brown to play CB and if can do that he might be able to get Bassey to play up to his potential. Also can play Safety. Teams might take him earlier just based on hsi 40 but he is hit or miss guy and if he is there in the 7th worth the shot.

1-we wont wait until the 3rd Round to get a tackle. Right now we have clement and jones.
2-Mcintosh will not last that long, we are better off using this pick to get eslinger who will back up teague and lawson or wimbley at 29.
3-like the addai pick but #4 is a little high for davis, most likely it will be either d'brick(assuming saints take mario) Cutler or Young.

We have 2 4ths (one from Herm) so I'd like to take a QB with one of those, and McIntosh will not be there in the 3rd.

    - I'm not a huge fan of Davis personally, but he would be quite explosive.

    - Mangold is a great Center and would be a great pickup at #29.

    - I am a true believer in Cedric Houston/Derrick Blaylock. I think a RB waits until next year if necessary.

    - I love the Whitworth pick. If we don't go RT earlier, he's easily my #1 choice.

    - I doubt McIntosh will last that long, but if he does that'd be a great selection.

    - LeKevin Smith would be a good pickup. I'd prefer Oshinowo however. Also we own another 4th rounder... And with that pick we could grab an OG

    - Love the last two picks as well... A 4.0 40 time for Webb? I guess you mean 4.30. Because 4.0 would be a record.

Not crazy about Vernon Davis or Joseph Addai, but I love the rest of the draft and wouldn't be unhappy if it turned out this way.

I like both Smith and Oshinowo and Oshinowo seems like the better pick but I think Smith has a greater upside and if he can be coached up and stay healthy I think he'll be a better player in the future.

I knew I forgot a pick, I am looking at Guard there as well. I like Kevin Boothe out of Cornell. He dominated the Ivy league and granted it's the Ivy league but you know your getting a very smart player who isn't going to make many mistakes that a young lineman from a bigger school is going to make.

Yes it was a 4.3 time for Webb, I was thinking 40 when I wrote it but I know his 40 was faster than Bush. Which is pretty dam fast. The guy has some issues but I think when it's all said and done if he can stay out of trouble he'll be one of the best WR's in the draft. I have seen him play living in MWC country and the guy can play. He catches everything thrown his way. He isn't a huge playmaker but he is a reliable guy and has a nose for the endzone. Like I said , Webb will be the steal of the draft.

As far as not drafting a QB, I think we are going to give Ramsey and Pennington a chance to prove themselves. If we were going to take a QB outside of the bg three we would not have given up a draft pick for a guy that has no future with the team. This is not the Parcells or Belly way of operating. I think hte QB will come next season... just my opinion
