Now I'm no pro but I do hit about 50 % which by Vegas standards means I make money. Every week I'm gonna give out a few college football picks. Miami (OH) - 3 1/2 vs Vanderbilt. This game being played in Ohio fatures one of the teams expected to compete for a MAC division crown. The line opened at 1 1/2 and has been bet up. Vanderbilt has a host of new players at the skill position including at QB. It's going to be a long season for the Commodores and it starts tonight. Utah + 3 @ Michigan. I was lucky as I got this game when the Utes were getting 6 1/2. I think Utah wins outright as they are going to be very very good and could wind up back in a BCS Bowl. Michigan is in rebuild mode and will struggle adjusting to a new system. Ole Miss - 7 hosting Memphis. Huston Nutt's 1st game as head coach of the Rebels and takes over a loaded team from Ed Ogeron. The guy could recruit but couldn't coach which means watch out for Ole Miss this year. Memphis isn't a pushover but I see the Rebels covering the TD here. The money has come in on Memphis being bet down from 10 but I think that benefits me as I'm on the side laying the points. Northern Illinois + 9 @ Minnesotta. I don't like the Gophers, they stunk last year but so did NIU. I think this is a bounce back year from one of the MAC's better teams this decade. NIU has a strong running attack and I think they keep it close to the number. Florida Atlantic +26 at Texas. I think the Owls will keep it close in the 1st half. This an experienced well coached team. The Longhorns are much better but I think the experience and lack of intimadation will allow the Sun Belt's best team make a half of it. Under 48 1/2 UNLV/Utah St, the Aggies are going to be awful. They had their only QB with worthwhile experience quit last week and they don't feature any real mscoring threats. UNLV is going to put points up but these two teams play almost annually and the games are low scoring.
