I've been too busy to do a few of these but if things panned out I would love if something like this unfolded. There is a lot of wishful thinking and guys falling but I don't think it'd be too unrealistic. We don't have any real needs other then depth so the philosopht of BPA could really unfold for us in this draft. Pick 29 traded to Chargers for pick #40 (from Seattle) and #91, with the pick the Chargers select Ryan Matthews RB Fresno State. Pick #40: Daryl Washington from TCU, a versatile ILB who will play OLB in the pros. Has great speed and could excel in a pass rush situation. He's a little undersized but he is an awesome special teams player as well a big hitter. (Although I would like Reshad Jones there as well) Pick # 61 Major Wright S from Florida, another big hitter. The guy has some bad habits which I think a good coaching staff will fix. Has good closing speed but could be a liabilty in man coverage but thanks to Revis he likely won't see too much of. Pick #91 Torrell Troup DT from UCF, a guy who can take on 2 blockers. Should fit well as depth as NT to spell Jenk. Maybe not starter material down the road but really good against the run. #124 (from Arizona) Armanti Edwards QB/WR App St, similar prospect to Brad Smith but he would allow us to let Smith walk at the end of the year. Could fit well in Schotty's gimmicky offense. I like the idea of his as a return man as well. I love these projact players and this would be a good spot to take a guy like this if somebody else doesn't jump first. #155 Santonio Holmes ... # 198 Brandon Carter OG from Texas Tech, a guy who fell due to poor workouts and character concersn is one big fuck. 6'6 and 340+ lbs. Played in a weird (by NFL standards offense at Tech) from what I've read and seen he may be a good run blocker in a power rushing attack based on his size and strength. He also appears to be a bit of a lunatic. He was suspended by tech for criticizing his coaches and teammates. Seems like the perfect guy to call out Schotty. # 236 Rahim Alem DE LSU, an interesting guy with the potential for some upside. He seemed to peak early in his college career and has never really seemed to get back that Soph year. Has the potential to be in the backfield but a very low risk high reward pick. I wouldn't be the least bit surprised to see him go much higher based on potential. Obviously not a draftnick like all of the guys on here but I take a few shots every year. However it turns out I just don't wanna see any more Jeff Lageman's or Dorrian Boose's drafted by this team.
Yes they do but I see them going with a DT, they haven't replaced the production from Jamal Williams. He was a big loss for them and nobody really talks about it. They also need a RB so I could see them moving up to get Matthews who I think has steal written all over him.
