Not that anyone should give a damn but i've made my picks for the incoming draft
(just for the first 3 rounds)...
Round 1: Trade down a bit (20-25) and take Britt or Nicks
    Round 2: Ron Brace
Round 3: trade up for Rashad Jennings

If we do this i will be jumping around all day long.
If we take a good O-liner in round 4 and a good P in round 6 there will be reports of a naked man running around in Milan for no apparent reason :D

oh and if we don't sign a SS in FA it will be adressed in the 2 round instead of Brace. I like Chung...

Not terrible, but I think we can do better than Brace. I do thik we should trade down though if there are 4 or 5 good recievers and 2 good 3-4 DE's.

Actually, I think Nicks is a terrific value at #17. The guy is NFL ready and has no glaring weaknesses. We're lucky to have him at #17.

If we don't sign Leonhard then I'd be OK with someone like Ron Brace in the 2nd..

I wouldn't trade up for Rashad Jennings. We probably could get him without trading up anyway. Personally I'm not his biggest fan anyway..

It's looking like WR may be a strong possibility at # 17. Nick's value has risen, and ran decent at the Combine, better than I though he would and also looked good catching the ball. I have no issue if we select Nicks at #17.

Let's not forget Sean Smith, another player rising.....very versatile player that would fit in Rex's defense very well. The longer it takes to sign Leonard, the more likely it wouldn't happen. I'd also be happy with Delmas in Rd 2....but we would have to trade in Rd 2 to snag him.

Is there a way to get both Nicks and Sean Smith? Would it be similar to last year where we'd have to trade back into the 1st Round like we did for Keller?

Getting both of these guys gives you two immediate starters/contributors.

I think we will find a good enough SS with our pick in the 2nd round... no need to trade up IMO...

We can also get a good WR in the second round. I'd go Smith at 17 and WR in the second. Someone like Brian Robiskie, who has soliod hands, good size and run crisp routes, would be an Ideal first two picks.

Smith has very good size for the position and is a fluid runner for such a big man. I would love to him him in green and white. Robiskie does not have the upside of the guys available in the first but is goign to be a good pro player. He's not a strech the feild burner, but I'm willing to give Clowney a look there. He will be a very good posession type guy that should be arouynd for a long time.

Sean Smith is a special player that can play CB or Safety......something to consider in Rd 1....cause he isn't going to be available in Rd 2, if the Jets wait to their pick in Rd 2. Safeties for the Jets in Rd 2.....they will have to settle for Chung, Moore or Johnson.......none of them are dominating players and have question marks on their play. Delmas & Smith will be a memory.

Absolutely... I'm on the Hakeem Nicks bandwagon.

If we don't bring in Leonhard, there is tremendous depth at the safety position in this draft within the middle rounds. We could certainly find a potential quality starter anywhere from the 2nd to the 4th..

Sean Smith is on the rise, but I still have some questions about him that makes me cautious.. I think Nicks is the better value and choice at #17.

The talent at WR in the 2nd round will be far less than the talent at WR available in the 1st IMO..

We could find plenty of good safety prospects in the 2nd, 3rd or 4th round..

IMO, it makes more sense to take WR Hakeem Nicks in the first and go back for a safety in the 2nd or 3rd...

Backup NT is clearly a need on this team - to give more rest to Jenkins during games and during the season. Jenkins play really fell off toward the end of the year in 2008. I think the big man just got worn down. So I'd love to get a gigantic, two-gap run stuffer like Brace. And I think his value is in the second.

Only problem is with so many teams going 3-4 now, NT value gets pushed up. So Brace could be selected earlier than mid-second round.

I would love the Nicks pick at 17. I think he has that kind of value. He's NFL ready right now and I think the kid is going to do well at the next level.

I'd prefer to go OL for our 3rd round pick. Our line is getting old with Faneca and
Woody both 30+. I'd like to start grooming one of their successors. A third round pick would produce an OL who likely could be ready in a year if necessary. So that's the depth I'd go for.

Agreed. This is somewhat of an underrated need, but we could certainly use an heir at RT and/or LG. I wouldn't mind spending a 2nd round pick on a tackle if the right guy was there.

JFIPA...........I've been following the draft for many years and Hakeem Nicks popularity from his Bowl Game vs. WV is almost like a "Cult" following. Visiting many draft sites, the buzz about Nicks is still growing. Granted, Nicks was a very good WR before the bowl game....he shined when it counted the most, also made himself alot of money . I always like Nicks and the Bowl convinced me he's a tremendous prospect.

I hardly ever use the phase "can't miss"...but Hakeem Nicks is one of the handful in this draft....that's going to be Special. There is no doubt in my mind he will be a very productive NFL player.

Nicks has alot to play for.....he has two Brothers in Jail and comes from a tough background and had family issues (custody) growing up. He's a great kid, very positive and a good attitude.

Okay, I'm sold on Nicks and Smith. What picks do you think we would need, and what would it take to get back into the first round to grab the other?

How about a trade down from #17 to accumulate another 2nd and then packaging that to move back up?
