So, flame away. Just, provide valid reasoning - and I'm fine either way.

    Free agency:

    1. Mike Iupati, OG
    2. Jason Worilds, OLB
    3. Byron Maxwell, CB or Cro, CB

    Draft:

    1. Randy Gregory, OLB
    2. Cameron Erving, RT [or T.J. Clemming - whoever falls.]
    3. Josue Matias, OG
    4. Justin Hardy, WR or Nick O'leary, TE
    5. Eric Rowe, FS [or CB]
    7. Sean Mannion, QB

    =======================================================

There, I did it. Flame away.

I can't complain about Iupati, but I'm going to predict he won't be worth the 8M+ he'll get. Worilds wouldn't be a bad signing if the bank didn't need to be broken. I doubt Maxwell leaves Seattle and feel like it's a near certainty the Jets get Cromartie instead.

Not sure I really like Gregory, but wouldn't complain either. However, you're going to spend about 8M+ per year for Worilds and then draft an OLB at 6? What happens to Coples and Babin, who actually had a nice season? Seems like an overload there.

I think Erving is supposed to be more of a center prospect full time now. I'd like to see OG addressed via free agency to get a proven, high quality player, especially if the relatively inexperienced Aboushi is the other OG. I like Justin Hardy, but if Harvin is let go, more is needed at WR than just a 4th round pick who profiles as more of a slot receiver, which we already have with Kerley. I wouldn't have a problem with Jarrett competing with a rookie at FS as long as he's not a project. Not a Mannion fan, but if it's the 7th round, then sure.

Lot of detail is left out of this offseason. Are CJ and Harvin kept then? The only QB acquired is a 7th round pick? Who is released? What happens to David Harris or any of the FAs for that matter?

I was expecting a FIRESTORM - as in [THIS FUCKING SUCKS] sort, coming in trains. Instead I see rather civil response, so I thank you for that.

    Here's my reasoning:

    1. As with any FA signing, signing off 10+M/player is always a no-no. OG is never a prime-time position, and if Iupati is asking 8M, then may he find another job next season. I mean - I get it. He's good; is he as good as Alan Faneca was? I doubt that. So if that's what happens, Jets will have to look elsewhere - but they must find a suitable starter at OG spot.

    2. If Jets sign Cro instead of Maxwell - that's fine in my books. I'll reflect that.

    3. Worilds as a FA, and another OLB pick at 6? Yes. I am suggesting just that. Can Coples or Babin cover in space? Is Coples effective off the edge? I don't think these stock of players answer the question with emphatic YES. I still think Jets are 2 starting OLBs short. I don't know what the defense will look like, but I know it won't look like Rex Ryan's defense - that's for sure. This probably means the end of Bear OLB, who is in fact a 4th DE standing up. Jets LBs will now actually have to rush the passer, and cover in space - which these two aren't exactly suited for. [Especially the covering in space part.]

    3. If Cameron is more suited for center job, then probably Jets should look to draft a bona fide tackle prospect. I don't think good ones like Peat would be available in 2nd round, but 2nd tier prospects like Clemmings will be around. [If he's not, then someone else has slipped.]

    4. I don't think filling 2x OG spot through FA is a sensible idea. Jets scouting people and the coaches have to earn their keep here. We will have to see how Winters and Aboushi progress this season. If that fails - Josue will have to be the next one up.

    5. Yes - I am expecting Harvin to be cut. Jets shouldn't waste 10M on a WR. If Hardy doesn't fit, then O'leary, with 2 TE sets becoming the primary mode of offensive plays. With Amaro taking the lead, he shouldn't have to do too much - he just needs to beat Cumberland. If not - it's Amaro and Cumberland for this year, with Decker at split end. Probably a good time to experiment with Cumberland, as he was initially a WR. If there is no #2 option viable, then maybe Jets should give a hard look at Cumberland.

    6. Eric Rowe seemed to have a decent speed and range for FS - which Jets never had before after Sherry left. He looks like a heady kid, which is always a plus. With this monster DL, his job won't be too difficult. Also that allows Pryor back in the box.

    7. Mannion is my sleeper pick - and I am inclined to think that he will shock some people, given sufficient time to grow and mature. If anything, he's smart [which Geno is anything but] and he has experience in pro-style offense, meaning he does not hinder the offense with his inability to take the snap from other than shotgun. [Again, this is a polar opposite of Geno.] I can't make much out of his throwing mechanics - some scouts say he has very fluid and natural throwing motion without any wasted energy and motion; and some say his mechanics need some major coaching. They all agree that his footwork needs a lot of fixing, and he also has rather small hands - which will put his stock down more. Other than these obvious flaws, however, he has very good ball placement, on top of accuracy. I was thinking - if Jets take a project player on QB, this kid might be it.
