Changes to coaches and front office: I am not going to really put down a prediction for this. Rex could be gone, Tanny could be gone and Sparano could be gone. I think a new QB coach will be coming in for sure, and a new ST coach. Otherwise, I can speculate, but the hardest thing to speculate is on coaching staff and front office changes.

    Cuts/Walks:

Bart Scott: All Talk no production

Jason Smith:He hasn't done that badly as an extra offensive lineman, but his contract is ridiculous. He will get cut, maybe he will be resigned for a reasonable prize, but he will definitely be cut.

Calvin Pace:No mobility and no pass rushing ability anymore. Too old. He isn't a bad situational OLB, but I am sure he will be looking to start somewhere, and the Jets can't afford his salary to go with his lack of production

Eric Smith: Making too much money for a back up safety. He hasn't played that badly this year. I am not against the Jets bringing him back. He isn't bad as a back up safety, but he is making too much money for his role.

Matt Slauson: I hope he comes back, but the Jets seem set to basically hand Vlad the LG spot even though he doesn't deserve it. That was basically validated by what the O-Line coach said this past week. Tanny feels the need to validate the awful Vlad pick. I think drafting a guard might be in the future for the Jets. Either way, I don't see Slauson coming back.

Yeremiah Bell: He hasn't played poorly, but the Jets don't want to bring him back at his old age. I have loved the job he has done, but he won't be back.

Shonn Greene: He hasn't been very good this year. Has no speed, not the ideal every down RB. I think the Jets like what Powell has shown.

Bryan Thomas: Going to retire after this year

Lex Hilliard: See ya! You have been awful. FB is Josh Baker's position to lose for next year.

Tim Tebow: Contrary to what most people think, I doubt anyone wants to trade for Tebow, so I think he gets cut by the Jets in the off season. Unless you are set on making him your starting QB, there is no reason any team would want him on the team.

Other notes about roster personnel: I am not going to speculate on trades, that stuff is pointless. I know many people see Keller not coming back, but the way I see it is that Keller fills a need that the Jets would otherwise have if he left. There are too many needs to let the starting TE go and start over at TE as well as all those other positions. The Jets would love to cut Sanchez, but his contract will prohibit that. People have been down on Pouha this year, but people are underestimating how much his injury is affecting his play. Pouha has probably been playing all season at about 50%. The dude is clearly hurting, and is no where near 100%. He will be back and be playing well next year. Moore could be cut, but he is solid, and he provides the Jets a veteran presence. He will eventually be replaced, I just don't think its this year.

    Free Agent Signings:

Matt Moore: Some real competition for Sanchez. The Jets won't be going into another season without a viable back up for when Sanchez fails. The Sparano connection might be the reason Moore is the choice over other's.

Leonard Pope: A very good blocker as a TE. One thing we need is a blocking TE, that is a role Pope can fill.

Shaun Phillips: This team needs two starting OLB's for next year. You can't expect to get both of them in the draft. If the Jets are going to invest serious money into one position in free agency, this is the position.

    Draft:

One thing I will predict is a trade down. We will be picking from 10-20. A playoff team will want to trade up, and will have to give us their first and second.

Late 1st(Trade): Gio Bernard. Its clear that without a real QB, its hard to be passing team in this league. If the Jets want to make it work with Sparano and ever want to make it work with Sanchez, they need to establish a dominate running game. Bernard is going to be one of the better backs in the NFL in 5 years. Combine Bernard with Powell, and you have a very good RB duo for ground and pound.

Jets 2nd: Chase Thomas. The Jets don't need a 15 sack a year guy. We just need an OLB who can provide some type of pass rush, hold up against the run and have some mobility. Thomas isn't flashy, but he is real solid and doesn't have many weaknesses.

Traded 2nd to the Jets: Barrett Jones. There has been a lot of discrepancy of where Jones will be drafted. Some say 1st round, some say 3rd or 4th. I think it will be the 2nd. Jones is the perfect fit at guard for the Jets. If Jones isn't available, Waterford is another good choice. We clearly need a guard that can come in and play right away though.

3rd Round: Bacarri Rambo. Fills a big need. The Jets need to draft a starting safety, no more of this new free agent every year stuff. Sign Landry to an extension and get a starting safety in the draft.

4th Round: Landry Jones. Why not? There isn't a clear #1 on the current roster. Why not exhaust all your options and hope someone like Landry figures it out, and plays up to his immense talent.

5th Round: Brennan Williams. Maybe its wishful thinking, but I think the injury bumps him down a little bit. 5th round might be a little low for Williams though.

6th Round: Marquess Wilson. He might move up, but right now he is a projected 6th round pick. He left WSU, similar to what Mike Williams did with Syracuse a few years back. Don't let the 6th round grade fool you though, he has 1st or 2nd round talent.

7th Round: Mike Mauti: Won't get drafted, but he is the type of kid that will be one of those undrafted free agents that finds a home in the league. He has been unlucky with injuries, very productive ILB that can definitely help a team like the Jets.

My draft philosophy for the Jets is pretty simple. Don't draft on big potential early in the draft. As wrong as it sounds, fill your needs. Then draft on potential once you fill your big needs.

solid mock. I like most of the guys you picked. The farthest I see Barrett Jones dropping is late first/early second. I think he's gone by the time our second pick in the 2nd comes up. if Warford is there, he would be the pick otherwise go defense again.

    Very solid and solid thinking.

I doubt Landry Jones will be there in the fourth. If you really want a mid round QB, I think Aaron Murray is a solid prospect. Unfortunately, he can't seem to win the big games. Then again, Peyton Manning had that knock coming out of UTenn.

I esp like the Rambo pick. He is a solid FS that we have been lacking for too damn long.

So were going to have 4 QBs on the roster with Sanchez, McElroy, Matt Moore and Landry Jones? I like the picks except for Jones. Very overrated.

Bernard would be great on the 46 or so. He's a multi-faceted talent who has tremendous upside as a star player. He's not breakaway fast though and he's not a hard to bring down bruiser. He's in Ray Rice territory and should probably go about where Rice went.

The Giovanni Bernard pick is kind of a reach, but we'll have to wait for the combine and stuff, but I love the Chase Thomas, Barrett Jones, Bacarri Rambo, and Marquess Wilson picks

I don't think any of us truly believe that Sanchez or McElroy are QB's of the future for this team. And Matt Moore is no more than a solid stop gap to either give you a fringe NFL Starter or a good NFL back up.

The Jets are keeping Sanchez for next year, his contract is too big. I think its worth giving McElroy a try to see if he can become our starting QB, but if he can't, the Jets might as well just bring in a veteran QB to compete with Sanchez, the better QB win's the starting job next year.

After the 2013-2014 season, Sanchez is a goner, and we have to start all over at QB.

I think its worth a shot trying to develop a young QB who can eventually be the starter. We have guys on the active roster that rarely dress, someone like Josh Bush. Why not try to develop a QB to groom him as your starter for the future? Sure, we can probably have a horrible season next year and take a QB in the first round, but if we develop a later round pick, even better. Its worth a shot.

I can def see Bernard or Taylor getting a Doug Martin type of rise enough to be worth the pick at that 28-32 plateau.

I like all the picks but Landry Jones....my theory is you either go in or don't go at all when it comes to a QB. If you take one, better make it your 1st rounder because its tough to find a quality QB past round 1. 4th round picks are pretty big and can provide useful players.
