Copy this link and it will show you the Chris Baker play with the defenders removed . . . just in case there was any doubt that he would have landed in bounds. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pW7_OHJ-zTY This comes courtesy of "Jets Extra Point" which airs on SNY every Tuesday at 6:30 and various times throughout the week.
Wow, that is great work, whoever did that. I definitely know already that he'd have been in but that video shows that he was on his way down before he got hit....good work.
That is amazing. I knew before that it was a bad call. This video brings it out in plain view, for even the most blind ref or league official to see. I know the NFL has a policy not to do so, but the Jets deserve a public apology for this one.
AMAZING!!!! Have anyone heard of an apology yet from the NFL because we better get one for a screw up this bad.
They will never say, "Gee, that video says it all. We were wrong. Sorry we increased your Loss Column by one."
The NFL has apologized in the past for things, but they wouldnt apologize for a referee mis-judgement, that make the refs look even worse.
but im sure if we was the patriots or the colts the nfl would fine the ref's or something. I just want something that shows that the NFL wont allow us to get screwed over again because god forbid something like this happens in the playoffs and the refs screw things up again.
First time I actually saw the play in any form. He was even more blatantly inbounds than I imagined. I saw the NFL should spot us 7 points at the start of the Pasties game.
The more I see the play the more it looks like a good call. His momentum, his stretch and the ball are pushing him to the right. Most likely he will land with force on the right side of his hip, then his shoulder will roll out of bounds and then his left leg will hit. But i cannot say for sure nor can anyone which is why the call was a very good call.
He was forced out. Should of been called forced out. Who cares thinking about where he could of landed. This video just proves he would of landed in bounds. Either way, FORCE OUT should be called. I think you are just in denial so anger doesn't take a hold of you. I wish I had your strength.
I think that when Polamolu's INT wasn't calle correctly, the NFL officially stated that it was a mistake....or the head of officiating or something...
Ridiculously bad call. Now I am pissed off all over again. That video reveals the absolute incompetency of the official who made that call. TBTF
BS. If you can't say for sure, then that is a reason to call it a forceout. The reason for the hit is not to knock the player out of bounds...it's to dislodge the ball. After the ball isn't dislodged, the benefit of doubt goes to the receiver if there is any real chance that he can land in bounds (as we can see by watching any NFL game, including the Cowboys game an hour later when a forceout happened THREE TIMES), which there clearly is!
