what is some of the old music the jets used to play during TV timeouts and also during crucial 3rd downs???? i remember beatles saw her standing there Harry Belafonte Day O AC/DC Hells Bells Neil Diamond Sweet Caroline what else was played? i had a sound stuck in my head the other day that used to be played and now i can't think of it? classic Rock song
Minnie the Moocher was the Cab Calloway song. Loved when that got played, mostly because it was like the victory cigar. Only played when the Jets were up and in control late in the game.
Southside Johnny " Where having a party" after beating the Jags in 1998 playoff. Shit I miss the band at shea, anything is better then the hip hop crap the Jet strippers dance to.
The music played currently before and during games is awful. The rap and hip- hop songs are dreadful. You would think the average age of the crowd is 16.
GREAT. My fave was the Ramones "Ay Oh, Let's Go!" Blitz Krieg Bop. Whenever they were getting their asses kicked in the early 90's my younger would sing along to that as "Ay, Oh, Jets Blow" Nothing like hearing that down by 21 in the 4th.. I'll never forget it.
Oh - here's another one 17a. They'd friggin' play "Louie Louie" whenever Aguiar came in to punt! We used to think that was pretty lame, as if the crowd would somehow be celebrating another Jet punt. Clueless! My brother moved to Texas in '95 (Lucky for him he missed the 0-8 at home season) but the things we used to chuckle and feel disgraced about are the things that I remember clearly 20 years later. Like these stupid songs! (Songs weren't stupid, their usage was, but in a good way now I suppose) Great topic idea. Just when we think there's nothing new to discuss...
i have had a song pop in my head ever now and then that was played at the old stadium.but i cut remember it when its time to download music. it was a classic rock song. along the lines of the kinks or the animals....damn
Hold on, I'll get "Texas" in on this discussion... BTW, Minnie The Moocher was hands-down the best. No question about it. I think it was because they held it back for victorious situations, unlike the others we've mentioned here - like Louie Louie.
