Blalock is cool by me and so is Tanard Jackson.

I like Zak DeOssie, but we don't need another ILB that badly IMO.

Steve Breaston in Round 3?? I wouldn't want him in the 6th... I just don't like the way he plays...

With Darian Barnes coming in and the staff being high on Stacy Tutt, from what I heard, I doubt we take a FB.

Eh, another big NT from Utah with a weird name? Isn't one too many? I'd prefer Keith Jackson or Quinton Echols there, but that's fine by me.

    OK draft....

    1. Justin Blalock G Texas - Great by me!
    2. Tanard Jackson CB Syracuse (may not last that long though if not TE Ben Patrick) - I think this is a little early for him. I don't mind grabbing Tanard but what about Josh Wilson here instead? How about Aundrae Allison here?
    2. Zak DeOssie ILB Brown - We don't need an ILB bad enough to take one here. Instead, Brian Robison would be a great fit out of Texas.
    3. Steve Breaston WR Michigan - I say we go corner here for someone like Tavarious Bain or David Irons.
    5. Le'Ron McLaine FB Alabama - Post Tutt/Barnes, this isn't necessary. This is where we can start drafting for depth. Perhaps we should go for LB depth here.
    6. Kelly Talavou NT Utah - Yeah I'm not a fan of this. Once you get this far in the draft it's really a crap shoot at best. We should go for a lesser known player out of a good school perhaps additional depth at safety here?

DeOssie could probably play OLB in the 3-4 due to his size and athleticism (6' 4" 250 lbs with room to grow, 4.62 40). I could see him being very effective out there with some help on his pass rushing technique from the coaching staff. I could see a rotation with Bowens (being the rushing LB from that side) while he'd develop over the upcoming season.

That being said, I'd spend our third on him and not one of our seconds if I was Tanny and he really impressed me.

I really, really like this draft. Jackson is probably the most underrated DB in the draft (granted, that's debatable, but that's my opinion). Blalock, of course, is a solid pick that presumably you can't miss with. If we're gonna take a linebacker that high, I'd much rather take Buster Davis, who I'm still convinced will be a stud. Breaston is a little bit of a reach, but I imagine he has the potential to be a sick punt returner and slot receiver for us in the future. The McClain pick is awesome, and I don't really mind where you went at the 6. Overall, if this is how it turned out, I'd be pretty pleased.
