Honestly, been watching this team since way before the sack exchange and haven't seen a defensive performance as physical and badass and dominating as I saw today.

By the last few series of the game, Houston players looked liked they didn't want to go back on the field. People were being destroyed by guys in green and white out there today. Acts of aggression were being displayed everywhere that Mangini was quite frankly too shy to be part of. This was a violent display of disdain for offensive advancement of the ball and Rex was the wizard. David Harris was everwhere. Daryl Revis was making people disappear. Jenkins was a one man army. This was a nasty display of defense and I savored and enjoyed every minute of it!!

They remind me a bit of the '81 defense that outhit Oakland (Mud Bowl was the next game). This defense will only get better and Meaner. We still need a terror on the edge for this D to be truly feared. I don't give a shit about respect, but I love the fear factor.

The Jets defense unleashed their potential tonight. Darelle Revis erased Andre Johnson, Schaub was afraid to even throw to him without Johnson being double covered, Now they have to keep it up through out the rest of the season.

    GO JETS!

without a doubt. and also the most aggressive. i never seen so many blitzes from a jets team in my life (this would have never happened last year). the blitzing we were begging for was present today

a big part of it is the texans had no idea what was coming. like the analysts on cbs said...there's no film to study at the start of the season and with ryan's schemes, it's hard to prepare for them to begin with.

hopefully we can keep it fresh and not do too many of the same things during the course of teh year. of course ryan has been pretty good at not being predictable over the length of the season

probably the LEAST frustrating game I've ever witnessed as a Jet fan. I'm only 18 though.

Whats frustrating is under Herm or Mangina when it's 3rd and long and they sit back and play conservative which allows the QB 4 months under center which gives the WR's 10 years to get open.

Under Rex he blitzes on pretty much every 3rd down from I saw today. Make Shaub get rid of the ball! Don't let him sit back there and examine the field!

I'm going to be really interested to see how our blitzes work vs Brady. Only 2 sacks today but pressures is what we got today. Pressures are almost as good as a sack.

Giddy. After 8 years of this bend/don't break BS, finally a defense that will put fear into any QB or OC watching tape. I'll be ready to get really giddy if we do something similar next week.

And to think that we're going to add Ellis and Pace to this group!!!!!

Darrelle Revis shut down Johnson, and then, late in the game, just for shits and giggles, Johnson got spanked by somebody and stayed down. He looked so dejected...

Another great thing was the offense staying out on the field for long periods of time giving the defense a chance to catch their breath and go back out just as intense. Haven't seen that in a long time....

Next week will be a good test. I expect with an aggressive defense every so often we will get burned by a big play. But that is SO much better than when we would play to not lose the game. The attitude of Rex is very clear on our defense and it looks like it has spilled over on to the offense as well. Win or lose, this could be a great year to be watching this team grow.

Now if only they can unleash that physical defense on Brady.

I have a feeling Pace will be a star in this scheme. I think he could be the passrushing terror we have needed for so long.

Agreed 100% with the OP. The Jets made the Texans offense look fucking pathetic. It's so awesome when your team wins on the road in convincing fashion... The boo's pouring down from the crowd was pure ecstacy!!!

I can only gush all day about what I saw today. WE DO NOT HAVE A PUSSY FOR A COACH ANYMORE. Can you say blitz, blitz, blitz and more blitz. We're winning by 17 and Ryan and Pettine are throwing the LBs and a corner at Schaub??!!! As much as I'm happy about Mr. 12-and-15 on 3rd downs Mark Sanchez, I'm even more happy about that defense. Leonhard, Strickland and Sheppard all had great games. Can't say enough about Revis. Bart Scott is an animal. Harris was fucking everywhere. Can't say one bad thing. Our defense dominated. When is the last time you can say that about our Jets??? And without Ellis or Pace. Whoever said the Texans looked scared hit the nail right on the head. I am very proud to be a fan of this team right now.:metal:

This was the most physical defense I've seen since the Klecko days. Those games often drew blood, but this was the best display I've seen since then. Schaub's ribs have got to be hurting real bad. They took an absolute beating.

I think Bart Scott also had a huge game, getting much of the blockers attention opening holes for others.

Scott seems to be so quick off the snap and with his decisions, it's almost psychic.

If you watch him take on blockers he looks like he's trying to kill them every time.
