Good signing for a year or two. Hopefully he's competitive with the current group.

Might mean bye bye Braylon. I like it though. He's young and can play. He's just never had any sort of guidance whatsoever. Not that we are a team full of vet leaders, but Marty might be good for him.

Braylon isn't going anywhere. He's 30 and has had a good pre season

Massaquoi will probably duke it out with Gates for the 4th receiver spot

    He gives us good depth

Jags released him after we played them. Not sure why tho.

If he stays concussion free, he could be a solid pick-up.

    That's a huge IF, though...

I'd take Gates over him any day.. It is possible Holmes gets put on PUP as there is a report that the Jets are a little weary about why Holmes isn't playing even though he has been cleared to practice. So maybe he will take Holmes place for the first half of the season.

He's not going to blow anyone away, that's why he was available. But he's a good WCO receiver. He's got speed, he can stretch the field. It's a solid signing for at the very least, depth. I could see him playing very well under Marty though.

edwards is by no means a lock for this roster. he has to be good enough to justify keeping him and not someone who can also play teams. not sure he has done that yet

Because he's not good. I'd rather see a guy like Ryan Spadola make the team than this guy.

What is up with Braylon? He rarely practices, never plays with starters, yet looks good when he gets in each game. I don't get it.

Well better hope Spadola outplays him then.

lots of vets do this. They've been in the league long enough to where they get a pass...basically loaf through camp and save themselves for the season.

He could be competing for roster spots with Obomanu, Spadola, and Rogers. I like the approach Idzik is going with. You can never have enough receivers. He's creating depth.

Saying Massaquoi isn't good is just hyperbole. He's playing on offensively inept teams his whole career. Not that we're going to be the Saints, but the WCO is definitely susceptible to receivers that can get down field.

At this point Holmes - Hill - Kerley - Gates - Spadola are locks for the team. They will probably keep 6, so Braylon, Mass, Obomanu and Rogers will battle it out for the last spot.

This sooooo...reminds me of Seattle when Carroll got there initially. They were bringing guys in and out...left and right. Idzik must have learned a thing or two there because this smacks of that.

Wouldn't be the first time a "change of scenery" is just what a guy needs. Let's see how he plays.

Personally, I think Edwards is a lock IF Holmes is going to be out the first portion of the season. Where the new guy fits in...time will tell.
