    Free Agents
C LeCharles Bentley. Young building block to anchor new offensive line.
NT Ma'ake Kometeau. MASSIVE NT for a 3-4 defense
OT Brad Hopkins. Veteran pressence at RT, allows a rookie RT a year to develop

    Trades:
John Abraham to Denver for pick #22. The Lions deal honestly seems too good to be true
Pick #4 to Buffalo for picks #8 and #41
Jets 4th round pick (the Herm pick) to Washington for Patrick Ramsey

    Draft
1A. Vernon Davis TE: Yes a luxury to some, but next to Bush I believe he is the most explosive offensive player in the draft. Baker is a FA and nothing needs to be said about Doug Jolley.

1B. Manny Lawson DE/LB: Speed demon who could become an unstoppable 3-4 OLB. Jets definately need another pass rusher with Abraham gone.

2A. Antonio Cromartie CB: Rare size/speed combination, a top 5-10 pick if he was healthy last season. A duo of Cromartie and Miller could be dangerous for years.

2B. Ryan O'Callaghan OT: Massive RT prospect, with Hopkins on board, the pressure to contribute immediately isn't there.

3A. Stanley McClover DE/LB: Another effective speed rusher. Taking 2 pass rushing OLB's in day 1 might seem excessive, but I don't see one on the Jets roster right now. The Pats (Colvin and McGinnest) and Chargers (Foley and Merriman) have 2 of these guys.

3B. Jason Spitz OL: Has experience at LG, RG, and C (Lamont Jordan comp)

4A. Julian Jenkins DE/DT: a good fit as a 3-4 DE and a good run stopper.

4B. Marques Colstin WR: intriguing WR prospect with excellent size

    5. Freddie Roach LB: Great run stopper who can provide depth at ILB.

    6. Matt Bernstein FB: Punishing blocker, plus I like his last name :)

I know this draft seems very defensive heavy, especially at LB. However its easy to forget just how much LB depth you need in a 3-4 defense. Going back to the 98/99 Jets you had Mo Lewis, Marvin Jones, Bryan Cox, James Farrior, Roman Phifer, Chad Casscadden, and Dewayne Gordon. I like the the Jets LB group of Vilma/Barton/Hobson/Brown, but there is not enough depth nor are there any true pass rushers there either.

very nicely done. Not sure we could afford bently and kometeau, but a very realistic offseason which addresses alot of pressing needs. I'd be tempted to take DeAngelo Williams at 8 if he was there, but I agree Vernon Davis is a freak of nature who will give defensive coordinators fits.

I could understand if its a stretch. I honestly consider Brad Hopkins to be the real "luxury" free agent. If the Jets didn't have the $$$ for all 3, Hopkins is the one I'd pass on and hope O'Callaghan is ready to start immediately.
