Here goes version two. While I would love Richardson, we have to many needs to fill. I don't see Floyd dropping to 16 so I have no idea who the FO really likes but I think it will be some form of rush OLB. I have studied them enough to be confused so I will cop out on which one it is going to be. If it is some of the "lesser" ranked players they could move down a couple spots and gain a pick. In my mock I regain the fourth that way or by moving down in the third about 10 spots and gain a fourth. (The math works)

Pick 2 Harrison Smith S 6-2 213 ND We obviously have safety issues. Landry may not stay healthy and is on a one year deal. Smith may play opposite, develop and should be a help on special teams coverage.

Pick 3 Greg Childs WR 6-3 219 Ark Really like him late third. Pushed down by injury but now healthy. Ran 4.40 good hands, can get physical and deep. blocks. Really think he could be special.

Pick 4 Brandon Hardin S/CB 6-3 217 Org St. He keeps moving up boards. Should switch to FS could sub in in passing situations, take over when ready and special teams demon. If Leonard comes back he would be a great teacher for Hardin.

Pick 5 Tank Carder ILB TCU. This is actually earlier than where Scout lists him but excellent player to bring in and take over next year from Scott.

Round 6 Devier Posey WR 6-2 213 OSU. Suspended beginning this year drops him but previously productive with good size and can get deep.

Round 6 comp Jeff Adams OT Columbia 6-6 306. Jets have been linked to him seems like a good project. Will need time to get bigger/stronger. Really hope Jets know RT will be okay like they say.

Round 6 comp Tim Fugger OLB Vandy 6-3 248. Converts from DE where second team all SEC with 7 sacks and 13 tackles for loss. At pro day was said to look agile enough to convert and ran 4.5s so speed should be okay if he gains some weight. It is the part of the draft where taking a chance on an intelligent fast conversion could pay off with little risk unlike some of these first round conversions.

Round 7 Drew Butler P Georgia. Big leg. Looks like around two thirds of kicks were inside the twenty or fair caught. Also holds.

Round 7 comp Frank Alexander DE 6-7 270 Oklahoma. Co defensive player of year in big twelve. Adept at knocking down passes. Put some weight on him and could be perfect for 3-4 end. practice squad

Round 7 comp Levi Adcock OT 6-6 320 OK St or Gino Gradkowski G/c Del 6-3 300. Not sure why Adcock is ranked so low by so many. Successful at LT at OK st but projects better to RT possibly could be a swing tackle. If staff is not as high on interior line backups as they claim, Gradkowski offers some versatility as center experience. hard worker.

Okay there it is. I like that it adds two pass rushers at OLB (1,6). Two safeties with size who should be able to cover tightends. (2,4) Two wide receivers who have size and can get deep (3,6) I prefer to hedge my bets by doubling up rather than depending on one rookie. While I would like OL that weren't in need of development I am taking the staffs info that Hunter/Vlad can handle Rt although I wouldn't bee surprised to bring in a vet after the draft for insurance.

His 1st pick is an OLB he's just not saying which one because it can be anybody

if that isn't what he meant then I'm confused

Fair dig. I think our team will maneuver up or down to get who ever they have really settled on as their pass rusher. Despite claiming BPA, our management has focused on players and gone after them. Hopefully, this time we move down and get the guy they really want and gain picks with the chance to further improve the team. Without being in the private interviews, meetings, and work outs none of us truly knows who that it. I am not sold on Ingram. I am torn between Upshaw who has played the position but I feel will be a better run stopper in the pros and Hightower who called the signals, who was more athletic before his injury and looks to be getting all the way back as the season progressed. Both are hard workers and have the benefit of being in a pro style system. If you saw the ESPN preseason feature on Alabama in 2010 there was a green NY Jet defensive playbook on coach Saban's desk. I saw it and asked him about it during a Q& A session. If it works better Hightower it is.

The thing with Hightower is I see him as a Mike, we have a Mike in David Harris, unless you see him as a Jack or vice versa switching Harris to a jack and Hightower after getting a year under his belt becomes the Mike

If we dont get Ingram, I say just stay patient get some Pass Rush Specialist and make sure we land Brandon Jenkins in the 2013 Draft
