I'm dubious of a team trading up that high for any of the QBs, but I'm all for it if possible. Like the first two picks. Without knowing the costs involved, if I'm trading back into the first round in your scenario I'm going for Nakobe Dean.
solid draft for sure. Personally and i know we discussed this i'm not high on linderbaum that high up, I'm also not a fan of trading up back into the 1st for london but I understand your theories and having different opinions is what makes discussions fun
I get that, as fas as a trade up, I think you can go from 35 to 32 without paying too much. Especially when you already picked up more assets in the trade down with Denver. If Miami could get 2 1sts for 12 to 3, I figure you can get an extra 1st and 2nd for 11 to 4. At some point it’s house money
I don’t see defense as urgent enough to warrant a trade up, I think you can be patient. I just want to make sure Wilson has everything possible to continue to develop more.
it's essentially a late 4th/early 5th for that move up i'm sure we'll discus this at length at some point though lol
Always love Max's thoughts and insights and the idea of trading back and up is very intriguing -- and Joe does like to move around But I don't like the idea of taking either a safety or center that high. I get the intrigue with Hamilton and if the FO thinks he's an absolute game changer then so be it, but i'd like to think Joe can find an excellent Center in the second or third. i'm a believer in BPA but you can move around in the draft to try and get BPA that coincides with need to some degree too. I would like to see Edge, OL and WR in first two rounds
Love it. I was actually thinking about the trade back. My past mock had Garrett Wilson but he's not a sure thing IE Julio Jones, Calvin Johnson etc. BUT, we could easily trade back and grab a guy like Drake London who would compliment Moore nicely. I wouldn't hate this pick but would want 2-3 picks from Denver. Next years first, this years 2nd and 3rd.
I agree although he traded up to # 32 and Dean was off the board already. I like him though. Another player to watch is Enagbare the DE from SC. He is underrated in my opinion. Could be another Abraham for the Jets. Would be a solid EDGE in the 4-3. Line him up next to Q and JFM.
I like the idea of trading back for sure. I'm one of those fans who is way too scarred to take a safety there, so I'd probably take Karlaftis. At 11, I'm more than fine with Linderbaum. I would also be fine with the Jets taking a WR there. I'm also keeping an eye on the Jets trading a 2nd rounder for Calvin Ridley. He's in the last year of his deal, and I think his value will take a hit because of the leave of absence. He could easily go for a late first though, so it may be all for nothing.
I like the trade down, but if the draft fell like that, I'd hate it missing out on the top WR prospects. London is slow as molasses. I like him, but not at the expense of missing out on Burks or Williams. I think I'd be happy with the Hamilton pick, and while I love Linderbaum, I don't think he would be the right pick after taking Hamilton. At #7, I think the choice should be between Hamilton, Karlaftis and Linderbaum. Hamilton's a playmaker, so I think the Jets would need to take an offensive playmaker at #7. They already have two #1 picks invested in the OL. If they're going to use a third, then it should be on a RT instead of a C, unless you're thinking of moving Becton to RT and keeping Fant at LT for another year or two. What are you doing with McGovern in that scenario? Would he battle it out with LDT for the RG spot or would you just hand it to McGovern and not re-sign LDT? Either way, you then probably have to use another #1 pick on OT within a year or two. That would be 4 - #1 picks on the OL, and that's too many.
It might sound strange but as good as Linderbaum is he may be a luxury pick at this point. The Jets have a center. LT is the question mark right now as in Becton’s injury issues. Williams would be a great pick at #7.
