This draft is playing with fire because it relies on two things, the dolphins taking Chase at 3, and our trades not falling through so we stay in the top 5. Both are risky chances. But even with conservative deals there is a potential large reward. This build assumes things go our way.

    Lets begin.

    1. With the first pick of the 2021 draft the Jacksonville Jaguars select:
    Trevor Lawrence

    2. The New York Jets have traded the second pick in the 2021 draft to the Atlanta Falcons.
    HIGH
The Jets get Atlanta first (4), second, (36), and third (68).
    LOW
The Jets get Atlanta first (4), second (36).

With the 2nd pick in the 2021 draft the Atlanta Falcons select.
    QB Justin Fields
We are giving it up cheap to gain their position. Playing with fire hoping the dolphins select Chase. Since this is an ideal mock they will.

    JETS 2021 PICKS - 4, 23, 34, 36, 66, 68, 87. 98. 130, 138, 162, 215
We now have 4 top 40 picks. First three rounds are bolded.

    3. With the third pick in the 2021 the Miami Dolphins select:
    WR Jamaar Chase

    4. The New York Jets have traded the fourth pick in the 2021 draft to the Cincinnati Bengals.
    HIGH
The Jets get the Bengals 2 round pick, (38), and third round 2022.
    LOW
The Jets get Bengals 2 round pick, (38).

With the 4th pick in the 2021 draft the Cincinnati Bengals select:
    OT Peniel Sewell

Sewell can go for a second and I'd be happy. We don't have much more leverage then that, but maybe a third next year if JD is good. Of course taking Sewell here would be a good option but not in this mock. By trading from 4-5 we continue to hold a position of trade value.

    JETS 2021 PICKS - 5, 23, 34, 36, 38, 66, 68, 87. 98. 130, 138, 162, 215
We now have 5 top 40 picks.

    5.
The New York Jets have traded the 5th pick in the 2021 draft to the Carolina Panthers.
    HIGH
The Jets get Carolina's second (39) and third (73), and Bridgwater.
    LOW
The Jets get Carolina's second (39) and third (73).

With the 5th pick of the 2021 draft the Carolina Panthers select:
    QB Zach Wilson

Carolina is one of several teams in the top 10 that would be interested in a top 3 QB. Ultimately it doesn't matter who they take.

    JETS 2021 PICKS - 8, 23, 34, 36, 38, 39, 66, 68, 73, 87. 98. 130, 138, 162, 215

We now have 6 top 40 picks and 12 in the first 3 rounds. Plus another potential third, a second in 2022, and Bridgewater on the high end.

    MORE TRADES

We give the Saints picks 66, 98, and 130 for their 1st - currently pick 29.

The Saints are in cap hell after this season and only have 3 picks this draft. I'm sure they'd cash their low first for 3 picks. Might have to turn the 130 into the 98 though. Something we can now easily afford.

    JETS 2021 PICKS - 8, 23, 28, 34, 36, 38, 39, 68, 73, 87, 98.138, 162, 215

In the final tally we have gone from 3 top 40 picks to 7 top 40 picks, and 11 in the first 3 rounds.

    TOP 50 PICKS:

    (8) - Kwity Paye - Edge
    (23) - Wayett Davis - IOL
    (28) - Rashod Batemen - WR
    (34) - Dion Kendrick CB
    (36) - Aliija Vera Tucker - IOL
    (38) - Creed Humphry - IOL
    (39) - Javonte Williams - RB

These are my top rated edge, and top 3 interior linemen, plus a pretty darn good RB and CB. That is a great core build. Plus we still have 5 more picks, including 2 thirds. This is the value of trading well and maintaining a prime trade position. Some of those picks could be cashed in for another 1st next year.

Good shot. I always love reading mocks and seeing different viewpoints.

However, Zach Wilson is going to be an epic bust and all those moves aren’t realistic tbh.

Which move do you think isn't realistic?

I should reframe my post. Collectively it’s unrealistic. I can’t see 3 trades from the same team inside the top 8... I could see either the Falcons or Bengals moving with us. Then taking Wilson at #5 is for me a huge reach. I’m not even sure he’s a first day pick at this point... I’m sure a team will roll the dice on him but if players like Watson/Mahomes go 10+ I just can’t see him skyrocket that high up.

With as many teams wanting QBs this draft he will go that high in a trade (or some QB will). The value of the trade is what is debatable.

The one crazy option that is not on here that really nobody has mentioned is the QB needy good teams that would possibly mortgage the farm for Fields. There are 5 teams out there that will need a QB for next season that could offer a huge package.

Saints - They are -94 mil against the cap and Breese is retiring. Their first pick is 28-32. They would need to anti up 3 1st rounders + 2 2nd rounders to move up to 2nd overall for Fields.

Bears - Trubisky and Foles are weak and they will be moving on. Their First pick is 18-22. They would need to anti up 3 1st rounders + 2nd for 2nd overall and Fields.

San Fran - Devastated by injuries one year once removed from a SB. They are a QB away from greatness if their D gets healthy. 3 first rounders for 2nd overall and Fields.

Patriots - We won’t trade with them but they fall in this category. Given they are in our division and we hate them we would need 3 first rounders + 3 2nd rounders LOL

Washington- They have a nasty D developing there and some nice pieces on offence too. They need a QB after the Haskins debacle. It would take 3 first rounders and 2nd for Fields and given they did this once and it blew up on them I doubt they do it again.

Pitt - Ben is finished even though he might give it one more shot.. Perfect opportunity to groom a QB. Would take 3 first rounders for 2nd overall and Fields

The pattern here is would we consider moving that far back (back third of the first round) if we got a kings ransom with 3 first rounders on the table?

I would take 3 first rounders and a second to trade with any of those positions. No way anyone is giving up that much for Fields, but I'd take it if they did.

This is the most unrealistic mock I've ever seen.
