Just wondered if any guys had been to the astros park? Is it a good place to catch a game? Over there on business April 2nd for 2 weeks and am going to get tickets for a couple of games.
I've been there twice, I like it. Kind of small but it is what it is. I prefer AT&T Park over any place I've been.
get reasy to sweat your fuckin balls off. Houston is the foulest city in America. Well, maybe second foulest with New Orleans comfortably ahead
Already new its a dump as I spend 7-8 weeks per year there but wanted to try the baseball instead of Sam Houston racetrack!
swealtering heat and humidity, Jazz and blues, over rated food, beggars and pick-pockets are not my thing.
whatever you say whitebread. I lived in NYC during the Reagan administration, beggars are invisible to me.
I've been to the stadium, it was about 10 years ago right when it opened and I thought it was nice. The Astros suck so getting a ticket shouldn't be too hard. Houston is an awful place but you already knew that. I sat 3 rows behind the visitors dugout (my free tickets came from a family member who had oil connections) If I remember correctly they have a retractable roof there and the left field set up is pretty cool. I also liked the flagpole in the OF. It's different. But IATA is right, At&T is still my favorite although Petco in San Diego is nice as well.
Been to Minute Maid park (one time back when it was still Enron field). It can get a little tight walking around but usually its pretty good
I also loved AT&T. I went the 1st year it was open. Awesome stadium. Sat 2nd level behind 3rd. 2nd favorite was...and it kills me...Fenway. small seats, but loved the park. Buck Foston
cool stadium , oh and the marlins suck big time. Now I know why we went 2-1! great concessons, get a country pork hoagie!! Its calorific greatness!!
Back from Minute Maid. Nice ballpark of the Camden Yards / Citi Field variety. I sat in the Upper Terrace behind home plate. There couldn't have been even 10,000 people in the park, and the Astros are VERY bad. BBQ pork nachos for the win, however. Thank God for the retractable roof - it was 94 degrees in Houston today, but nice and comfortable inside.
Small park but nice. AC works just fine inside the park. I visit Houston at least 2-3 times a year due to business and I like to catch a game when I can.
