My favorite part of the story is that Omar called Cashman to give him a pep-talk.

Maybe if Cashman gets fired Omar can give him a job as Vice-President of High Priced Free Agent Acquisitions.

    Why isn't Omar's Expo's trade here?

The one where he sent Grady Sizemore, Brandon Phillips, and Cliff Lee to the Indians to rent Bartolo Colon for two months?

Terrible trade, but the guy was trying to save baseball in Montreal. It wasn't a matter of waiting a few years to see if Lee, Sizemore, and Brandon Phillips would turn out. He had to take a shot at making the playoffs and Colon was the guy.

I don't love Minaya, and I question his competence quite often(especially after watching Brian Bannister last night), but I'm not going to kill him on making that trade in the situation he was in.
