Why is it necesary for a teammate , in this case Washington, to slam another teammate down from behind after he scores? You're happy he scored? Yay! The guy is out of breath as it is and now he has to be slammed into the ground for no apparent reason? It just seems like it's not a smart thing to do. Every tackle takes something out of you. That's why you only play once a week in the first place. Plus, Washington almost tripped him at the 5 trying to catch him so he could tackle him.
I think your reading too much into it. It was a celebration. It was jubilant. The stadium was going nuts. If Miller broke something on the tackle then we could ridicule as bad as we ridiculed Bill Gramatica for blowing out his knee on a celebration. But it didn't happen. Enjoy it.
When I rewatched the Game I noticed the (Almost) Trip. If he would've tripped him and been downed there, we might have won the game. lol
I'd be pissed if I got piled on after a long run like that, I would want to celebrate in a less brutal way lol
Not such a big deal...they scored the TD and thats all that matters. Can't blame a rookie in the league for being excited about the biggest play that he has been involved with in his early career.
Same as keyshawn whacking DeShaun Foster with his elbow after the TD, its just sponteneous jubilation, Miller's run was a huge momentum breaker.
It's jubilation..and regardless...even if he did trip him he would have had time to get up and get into the endzone.
By the title you wrote Gator, I thought you ment something like he stated a fault about Miller and the runback. But I was wrong. It's just a celebration.
It's because they're young and actually having fun playing football at the highest level. Don't you remember being a kid?
I agree, Leon Washington should be put to death by public stoning for commiting such a horrible act. :sarcasm
