According to Doug Whaley, Mike Williams has requested a trade from the Bills. They got him from TB for a 6th round pick and the guy wasn't even active yesterday. I feel like he can be had for a conditional pick. He's a pretty talented guy that I'd gladly give up a 6th-ish for.

Because the Bills won't do anything that has a remote chance of helping out the Jets. If the Bills were willing to move him to us then id be very concerned about what else is going on behind the scenes.

They're not going to trade him to a division rival.

Wow that guy is a huge POS. Buffalo gives him a second chance, in his hometown, when many of the league wouldn't touch him and this is how he repays them? First he complains about their QBs then he requestsa trade 6 games into the season. Who the hell does he think he is? Fuck him. He's lucky to have a job.

trading for him would be a bad idea. You think he's unhappy in Buffalo? it'd be worse here. Buffalo should just tell him to stfu or cut his ass.

Isn't he originally from the Buffalo area? You'd think he'd be happy playing for his hometown team.

This. Unless we were willing to be raped. And I'm not sure I'm interested, regardless.

I'd look into his contract and what is guarateed first. I know he's due for $5.3mil next year and has a few more seasons after that... but I have no idea what is guaranteed if any.

He's sitting in Buffalo cause he either won't or don't play special teams.

The fact he's being traded twice in one year is a pretty good reason not to bite.

this gm never, waste 5 million on that contract this gm has an issue spending money on players that produce never mind one that doesn't.
Seriously though wait till the bills cut him then sign him on the cheap. mid season trades rarely happen if ever in the nfl

I'd rather have the draft pick.

Yea lets judge our draft 6 games into its first season. The fact that our 6th round picks arent producing yet is truly worrisome right.

That said Id much rather keep the draft pick than trading for a player who has a problem with the offense he is in and its QB situation. I cant imagine hed like it here anymore.

Only if we get him cheaper than they did, which would mean redoing his contract with no guarantees, which won't happen. It would have to be a conditional pick based on playing time, stats and if he is still on our roster come March next year.

Mike Williams has a low cap hit ($1.8 million) this year and absolutely no guarantees beyond 2014, so that is of no issues. It is true however that it's unlikely the Bills would deal him in the division. With hopes of making the playoffs this year, they want us as weak as possible for 2 divisional games.

It was Mike Williams agent that requested a trade not Mike himself. He isn't that big a part of the gameplan (for Hackett's own idiotic reasons) and we needed the special teams players this week due to a few injuries...

"The Bills sat wide receiver Mike Williams down on Sunday, a decision that coach Doug Marrone called “tough” while sayingit was determinedby the need to dress players who play on special teams.

Williams would prefer to be on a team that has a spot for him on the offense whether or not he also covers kicks.

Matthew Fairbun of Syracuse.com reports that Bills General Manager Doug Whaley said that Williams’s agent called him to
ask for permissionto look for a team interested in trading for his client. Whaley said that the team is not going to actively shop the wideout, who they acquired from Tampa in a trade for a sixth-round pick in the offseason, but that they would entertain the idea if they received “fair compensation.”

Getting that sixth-round pick back would probably qualify, especially if Williams is a minor enough part of the offensive plans that his lack of special teams work keeps him off the field. Williams, who is signed through 2018 and is set to make a base salary of $5.2 million next year, has eight catches for 142 yards and an 80-yard touchdown that accounts for a big chunk of his total production for the season."

We're not going anywhere this year but spiraling down the toilet. No reason to make a "need" trade for another malcontent especially one that is a ? As to whether he'll add anything to the team.

($1.8 million) for a WR who has proved nothing and can't get on the field in Buffalo. Its not like Buffalo has a lot of depth at WR or like Williams is even a good #3. Two crappy teams have given up on the guy.

I feel like you're trying to argue with me but I don't know why. It's not like I'm asking for Mike Williams.
