Why is this guy not being talked about?

6'2 200+ WR from Central Florida with 4.35 speed.

He had no QB his whole college career, but he still was 4th in the nation last year with 90 receptions. He's got great hands, and everyone knew the ball was going to him and he still wasn't stopped.

I would take a shot at him in the 4th or 5th round.

    MAYBE an undrafted FA?

Guy has as much physical talent as any reciever in this draft, and is one of the fastest rising WR prospects out there in a deep WR class.

I didnt see a thread on him before..

I go to UCF, and i've seen every game he's played in. The guy has Terrific hands, and is a play maker. He makes terrific catches down the sidelines, gets open in the redzone, and is absolutely fearless, he goes up the middle, takes the hit, and does it again.

The best thing is his size/speed combo.

A 6'2 210 WR with 4.3 speed? He's got perfect build too. A compact and strong 6'2 with good arm length and he runs with power after the catch.

This guys one of the best WR prospects in the draft. It's pretty funny how everyones looking for the "next Colston" and then this guy goes unnoticed.

If we had a better QB at UCF Mike Walker would be a bigger prospect.

Last year Brandon Marshall [UCF] was drafted in round 4. He ran 4.57 at the combine. He's 6-5, not the deep threat Walker is. Im not saying Mike Walker is Calvin Johnson quality WR, but he is very talented.

Interestingly enough... Today is UCF's first pro day, so we will be talking about this more the next week.

I'd definately go for him in the 5th round if he's there... I might even take a shot at him in the 3rd round...

I was looking up some info on him after somone mentioned him in one of their mocks a few days ago and I'd definitely take a flyer on him. depending on how the first few rounds go, I'd take him in the third if we fill a few need positions above him (ie we don't take Olsen in the first).

    Walker works for scouts
The blazingly fast wide receiver was the star attraction at UCF's 'Pro Day.'
    Alan Schmadtke
    Sentinel Staff Writer

    March 9, 2007

The two best things to happen for Mike Walker's career had little to do with what he did on the football field at UCF in 2006.

The first was former teammate Brandon Marshall being selected in the third round of last year's NFL draft, then contributing to a Denver Broncos team going through a quarterback transition.

The second was Walker throwing away a brace he wore on his left knee during his senior season.

"I think I depended on that thing too much. Once I got it off, I felt free. I felt great," said Walker, a former Edgewater High standout.

Without his knee brace, he stunned NFL scouts with a 4.35-second 40-yard dash at the NFL Scouting Combine on Feb. 25. That was supplemented by a 361/2-inch vertical jump.

The main attraction at UCF's "Pro Day" on Thursday, Walker performed one shuttle run, then ran routes and caught passes from Steven Moffett in front of more than a dozen scouts.

"I've done all I can do," Walker said. "I'm not surprised by the [40] times because I feel so good. I'm right where I want to be. When they all go back and see what Brandon did [at UCF], see what I did, I think they'll see I can play."

Walker, the only UCF player invited to the Combine, finished a four-year career No. 4 on the Golden Knights' career receptions list (182) and third in yardage (2,561).

"Once people saw his time [at the Combine], I started getting calls," UCF Coach George O'Leary said. "I told them, 'He's finally healthy.' Mike played hurt all year."

For comparison, Marshall, who caught 20 passes as a rookie for the Broncos, was clocked in 4.49 seconds at the Combine last year, then 4.44 at pro day. Walker did not run the 40 Thursday.

Other draft hopefuls did. Running back Jason Peters (4.59 seconds while weighing 229 pounds) and defensive back Travonti Johnson (4.50) drew notice. Peters ran pass routes for scouts, who also put Johnson through a series of agility drills.

Center Cedric Gagne-Marcoux tweaked his hamstring running. Hamilton of the Canadian Football League already has rights to negotiate with Gagne-Marcoux, a native Canadian. The Tiger-Cats drafted him last year.
