He is an ideal Denver back. I think the only reason he didn't get drafted was that he had some character issues.

He ran for 920 as a sophomore at Arizona, 950 as a junior, and 952 as a senior. He got injured early in the second half of his final game.
He is one of those cutback runners that Mike Shanahan likes.

Cut back guy with some power. I liked him but I thought something was missing. He will fit well there.

I still think Cobbs will be the starter. Cobbs is one of the most exciting college backs I ever saw, and now the opportunity is there. It's going to be a lively competition, that's for sure.

Somehow I doubt he actually starts week 1. I think it is a wakeup call to Tatum and Dayne saying that the opportunity is there if they would only get their heads out of their asses and put in some effort. I still think Tatum gets the lion's share of the carries though he will still split time.

Or Yahoo fantasy football. He'll be there once he makes the team. He isn't available yet because he wasn't drafted.

    from KFFL:

Bell feels the team doesn't trust him

Frank Schwab, of the Gazette, reports Denver Broncos RB Tatum Bell said he doubts he will be given a chance to win the team's starting tailback job. "I think they don't think I can be the man, period," Bell said. Tatum Bell said he has nothing against RB Mike Bell, the team's new No. 1 running back, and praised the rookie for performing well in camp, but he was upset. "I'm (ticked) off, to tell you the truth," Bell said. Late last week Bell was getting more repetitions with the starting offense and seemed on the verge of passing RB Ron Dayne.

"I don't think they trust me," Bell said. "I don't know what it is. I don't know if it's coach Shanahan (head coach Mike Shanahan) or B.T. (running backs coach Bobby Turner), it's somebody up in the front offices that makes the decisions that I think doesn't trust me." Shanahan dismissed Bell's impression that he wouldn't have a chance to win the starting job. "If he doesn't feel like he can win it, he probably won't," Shanahan said. "But if he feels like he can win it, he probably has a chance to win it." Bell said he will keep battling for the starting spot. Since the Broncos have yet to play a preseason game, he figured he has plenty of chances to impress the coaches.

Watched the guy when he played ASU. Now im an ASU fan but he is a cocky bastard. Two years ago he had a good game against ASU...he broke a good run and was in the open field, decided to put his arm up and give the #1 sign. He was then caught. Would have been a touchdown. He didnt really impress me to much....but what do i know, thats why i am not a head coach.

Tatum sucks and I purposely avoided taking him in my fantasy team this year. I remember I took Tatum 4th round last year because my magazine was raving about him. Saying how hes not a great runningback, but with Denver's line blocking for him it was a good chance he'd be a top 5 back. Turns out hes just an undersized, lazy back with some speed. Well let me just say I was embarassed picking him. The magazine was fantasy football index I believe. I'll never buy that magazine again.
