athletes and guns.... Hurricanes and guns... terrible news...but not really shocking, it was bound to happen sooner or later with all the new thugs in sports.
from espn Miami's Pata Shot To Death University of Miami defensive tackle Bryan Pata was shot and killed Tuesday night at an apartment complex in Miami, Miami-Dade County police said. Police had no other details. Pata, a 6-foot-4, 272-pound senior, is from Miami.
It's been nothing but trouble for the U the season. Coker will be fired after this season. That is really horrible that this happened to an athlete that more than likely had a chance in the NFL.
RIP I never want to see that However I cant say i didnt see something like this coming at Miami U. Edit: It looked like he was totally innocent and this was just a horrible thing that happened.
I don't understand how this has any connection to the school. Pata finished practice and was shot in the parking lot at his apartment (which is located off-campus in Kendall). From what I've seen in the news, it was an attempted robbery. This could've happened to any player at any school.
I suppose technically it could happen at any school, but some places are just mroe likely...and that's not even a reflection on the school. Blacksburg, VA -or- Coral Gables, FL?
i can't believe how classless espn has been in reporting this. trying to connect it to all of the football programs problems, for gods sake show some class!
Miami U DL Shot and killed http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=2653361 Pata was shot and killed last night a couple hours after practice outside his apartment. Looks like there is quite a bit of gun violence at Miami U. Sad, very sad. When are people going to put down the damn guns? While I am not opposed to the NRA or anything, some sort of gun control needs to be implemented in this country. It's just sickening.
Where in the article does it say that he had a gun? It said he was shot and killed , yet you mention athletes and guns, and where do you get that he is a thug?, and how do you know its bound to happen sooner or later? I mean comeon before you write something like that think about it and respect the fact that a person is dead.
Yeah, how bout realizing that Miami and Florida has always had one of the highest violent crime rates in this country for a long time. I wouldn't want to live there...
I didn't see any of it, but I'd have been shocked if ESPN showed any class about anything at all, ever.
