Just heard a NYJ fan on WQAM saying he bought his tix for the game so he could see us derail the Dolphins supposed PO run before the season started & now it has completely flip flopped with the game meaning everything to us & nothing to the blowholes. Lets hope NE whomps up on Jax on Sunday & we will then have every thing in front of us on Monday nite
Thats hilarious! I am going to be so stressed out all week. Watching this game on Monday night is going to be intense! F that, I hope the Pats lose and they lose the week after too. Then we take the Division, possible have a home game and Brady sits home and cries! They have a terrible tie breaker record.
Kindly remember Jax holds the tie breaker over us so unless you think NE will lose 2 straight it would be in our best interest to root for them vs Jax otherwise we will be shutout of the POs.
Hah, if you thought about it before the season you would imagine it would be us trying to play spoiler. Here's to a non letdown.
I understand that. But even so there would be many ways for the jets to get in as long as they win out. If Jax, NE, or (Den/Cin) lost the last weekend then the Jets would be in. And they all have teams that could do some damage. (KC, Ten, 49/Pit)
OK if you wish to choose that option & expect NE to lose 2 in a row then continue to think that way. BTW the emcee just said on the radio the best Xmas present would be seeing the NYJs get in but taking CP out
Don't get me wrong. I'm not choosing any option. I just hope they play at least one post season game this year. The point is that there is definitely an up side to Jax winning this week. Everything is predicated on the Jets Winning though.
A division would be nice -- but the "easiest" way into the playoffs appears to be 2 wins and a jax loss. Right?
THis in today's NY Post Here's one scenario that potentially aids the Jets: Cincinnati and Denver play each other Sunday, meaning one of those teams will have a seventh loss and likely will be eliminated. Also, if New England beats Jacksonville, the Jaguars also would have seven losses. That would leave the Jets in a position to control their destiny. By winning their two final games, they would be guaranteed a playoff berth.
These next two games are the playoff's to the Jets. I dont worry about who wins or looses . win our games and we will be in great shape.
Yep cause the the Bengals/Bronco's/Jax ALL own tie breakers over us. As Cinncy plays Den unless they were to tie one of them will then have 7 losses & if NE whacks Jax they also have 7 losses & if we were to win out we have 6 losses with either Cinncy or Den & be in.
Still cant believe that this Christmas game means something. The TV bosses Im sure put this game on the schedule to see if the Jets could destroy any chances of the Dolphins playoff chances, division title. Perhaps blitzkrieg could give us an editorial on how a team could win their final 6 games last year against a dog schedule, which we warned him in August...and then go on to fold up like a cheap tent this year. I guess blitz had too high of an opinion on Mr. Culpepper. LATER
Yes I think there were very hi hopes that DC would be the next DM in Dolphin land but I guess his injury was way more severe then Palmers was & was totally under estimated by the Dolphin MD staff.
For Jets fans, this has the potential to be the best or worst game of the year for us. Let's hope it isn't the latter.
It doesn't have to be that way. I just hope we play real well. If we lose, I want it to be the kind of game where anybody could have won it and the Dolphins knew they were in a dog-fight. I don't want to see any Chinese Firedrills or Three Stooges Routines. There will be a ton of hype to this game. In many ways, it'll almost be a mini-SB by the time the announcers get done shilling it. But I think Mangini can manage the emotions of the team beforehand and keep them focused on just playing well. Everything else will fall into place if you just execute well and tune out everything else.
