Now Starling Marte is out of the game. Mark Canha is playing right field. The Mets have lost Pete Alonso and Starling Marte to injury in roughly the span of a half hour.— Anthony DiComo (@AnthonyDiComo) June 8, 2022
X-rays on Alonso negative, but there will be more tests tomorrow. Marte with left quad tightness, tests tomorrow. I have a hunch we won't be seeing either of them for a while. https://abc7ny.com/sports/mets-slug...game-after-hit-on-wrist-by-yu-darvi/11937369/
No breaks, no fractures for Pete Alonso. His hand is merely swollen. For now, it's a true day-to-day situation. "I'm kind of surprised in a good way how it feels today," Alonso said.— Anthony DiComo (@AnthonyDiComo) June 8, 2022 Starling Marte (left quad tightness) also says he feels better and doesn't expect to go on the injured list.— Anthony DiComo (@AnthonyDiComo) June 8, 2022
Half way through and we are 3-4 on a tough stretch while super banged up. Not sweating yet. Not sure if it's ATL playing well or who they are playing or a combination of both perhaps? Keep this lead to 4 or 5 games and then clean up at the end of June when our schedule lightens up and ATL has LAD + SF again.
Well, the Apple TV announcers still suck, but it was a good game. Mets keep the lead over the Braves at 6 1/2 games.
I didnt see last night (watched basketball) but I've watched one METS game on the apple TV broadcast.... hopefully it was the last
Much more worrying than the 5 losses on this trip is them being outscored 39-9 in those losses. They're being outclassed way too often.
Look at who the Mets are playing right now in comparison to how the Braves are playing. The Mets kicked the shit out of those teams too. Finish the west coast road trip at .500 by winning tonight and forget it ever existed.
