    Game 1: Monday @ 7:10PM
    Oliver Perez, LHP (0-2, 4.35) v. Mike Leake, RHP (2-0, 3.25)

    Game 2: Tuesday @ 7:10PM
John Maine, RHP (1-1, 7.15) vs. Bronson Arroyo, RHP (1-2, 6.37)

    Game 3: Wednesday @ 12:35PM
Jon Niese, LHP (1-1, 3.10) vs. Johnny Cueto, RHP (1-1, 5.33)

I see the Met's coming back and winning this series. Game 1 and 3 most likely, They have to prove they can bounce back from a tough series.

Bad play by Reyes - he's got to knock that ball down. Of course, walking the pitcher is never a good idea to begin with.

Reyes atones with a long double to drive in Castillo.

That was a violent swing by Davis on the 2-0 Pitch. The kid handles his at bats like he's been playing for 10 years.

The thing that makes the Beltran injury even worst is that we have to endure Matthews Jr. on our roster!

GMJ has played like shit for sure, but I wouldn't mind him in the role he is playing now, if we didn't give up Brian Fucking Stokes to get him. Why not Sean Green?

Reyes on with a single up the middle. Both of Reyes' hits tonight were hard, well hit lasers. Could he finally be coming back?

    tough loss there.

Nix with a walkoff homer in the 11th to give the Reds a 3-2 win.

Anddddd, the Mets give up a walk off homerun. To the fucking Reds, I really hope John Maine can pull it together tomorrow, I feel bad for Oli.

What the hell was Manny Acosta doing in the game? He should be the mop up guy. Not the hold-the-tie-in-the11th-inning guy.

Well, it was either him or Raul Valdez. Pick your poison. This one's on the hitting, not the pitching.

No, the smart option is K-Rod. But god forbid we actually use the "closer" in a very important situation, but not a save situation. In an extra inning game, the most important inning is the current one. It is pointless to save your best relief pitcher for a situation that might never happen.

wow...really. you're going to bring your closer into a tied game ON THE ROAD in an extra inning game??? To face Lance Nix, for Christ's Sake? You save your closer for a lead in an extra inning game on the road. If you can't trust a reliever to hold a tie game, especially against the Reds, they shouldn't be on the roster in the first place. K-Rod comes in with a LEAD, on the road, simply put.

Edit: just to prove my point....who comes in if the Mets take a lead to get the final 3 out?? That is of course after Rodriguez was already used.....

wow...really. you're not going to bring in your best reliever in the most important situation?

Hypothetical scenario: It's the top of the 8th. The Mets (or any team) are up 4-2. Its bases loaded and 1 out. The meat of the other teams order is coming up. If they are going to win it, it will probably be in this inning. Who would you rather have in the game? Your closer? Who is, by definition, your best reliever? Or someone not as good?

When managers and fans start thinking that a teams best reliever can only pitch in the 9th to protect a run of 3 runs or less, it completely mis-values the player. Sometimes the most important inning of relief is not the 9th, when you are up by 3 and have to face the 6-7-8 hitters. It might have been the 8th, when you were up by 1, but had to face the 2-3-4 guys.
